He needs to sell to either Chris Hansen or my choice & probably most people's choice, Steve Ballmer. Steve Ballmer is worth 100x what that POS Stanton is worth & is so well liked by fans. He actually wants to win. If he wanted to buy there's no offer that's too much for him. 3 billion to him is chump change sorry. If our pussy media put more pressure on him maybe it'd have effect. Spineless is what they are. All of them. And yet people wanna bitch about east coast media. At least they care.D-train wrote: ↑Wed Nov 12, 2025 3:18 pmThe sad reality is that just because a player makes sense it has no impact on the chances of us signing him or trading for him unless we can get him for cheap and $200M might as well be $200 trillion. Mariners — The offense needs one more true middle-order hitter, and the roster already runs on run prevention. With J.P. Crawford at short, Bichette at second is clean and immediately raises the OBP/contact floor in a lineup that leans boom-or-bust. MLB Insider J.P. Morosi explicitly called Seattle out as a fit if Bichette toggles to 2B.
I know he had the injury but outside the the dude flat out hits. How is he not a fit here. Is he worth the long term investment. Again they can't bank on all their prospects somethings gotta give. Clearly you know who your SS of the future is. 3rd remains a mystery but 2B could be right there in front of you. If your gonna spend any money on a hitter why not make it him. Clearly in his prime. Seems like his arm is more suited to a move to 2B. Huge upgrade there for Jerry & company.
In an article published on Friday, Finkelstein projected an eight-year, $208 million contract for Bichette and had him landing with the Detroit Tigers, who had some of the worst infield production of any teams in the sport this year, especially playoff contenders.

Re: D-Trains Off season plan
Say there are three holes in the line up at the end of each season. Jerry would rather fill them with three guys with 1 WAR than 1 guy with 5 WAR and two replacement players.

How does that solve your 3B problem?HawkandMariner88 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 13, 2025 12:49 amWhat about about this.
Trade #1: TB for Yandy Diaz & either Edwin Uceta or Garrett Cleavinger
Trade #2 : Cardinals for Brendan Donovan
Solves your 3B problem in addition to another bat for 1B, hoping Naylor re-signs & another bullpen piece.
That I can live with along with bringing back Naylor & hopefully Polanco too.

Guessing Hansen isn't a baseball fan? I despise Ballmer. The Sonics would still be here if he was such and idiot Buffoon. Paid 6x more for the Clippers than he could have bought the Sonics for just a few years earlier but was too busy running MSFT into the ground.HawkandMariner88 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 13, 2025 1:01 amHe needs to sell to either Chris Hansen or my choice & probably most people's choice, Steve Ballmer. Re: D-Trains Off season plan
The three one war players are replacement to begin with. I don't see where this adds a 5 war player. He does that by extending Cal and Julio
Re: D-Trains Off season plan
I don't think Ballmer is a baseball fan.

Not surprising.

The fact that he is a Billionaire is probably the biggest testament to life isn't fair in human history.

Prior to 2023 and 2024 he spent about $50M for zero WAR on about a half dozen players. If he would have just added 1 $25M player each season he would have added 6-8 WAR.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Nov 13, 2025 3:53 amThe three one war players are replacement to begin with. Stick him at either 2nd then. I mean do you have any suggestions there DT haven't heard any. Donovan can play either. Nobody here really wants Williamson or Emerson at 3rd for some unknown reason. If you re-sign both Polanco & trade for Donovan that solves your issue right there. New idea here how's this. The big move I've heard bandied about is for Byron Buxton. Obviously injuries are a concern there but with Julio cemented in CF that would obviously mean Buxton would either have to switch to a corner spot or DH mostly. Defense & bat have never been an issue & I just wonder if Minny would be willing to sell low on him given his health. If your JD you jump at that opportunity. No reason why you can't inquire.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Nov 13, 2025 3:21 amHow does that solve your 3B problem?HawkandMariner88 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 13, 2025 12:49 amWhat about about this.

Sign Okamoto & Re-sign Naylor & Polanco
Other than that role with Williamson or Emerson at 3B. Those trades would make a huge difference & are low cost in terms of prospects as well as money. Can't argue with that can you.
