I agree. It's a human thing. You mess up, you know you messed up, and you overcompensate to correct.Michael K. wrote: ↑Tue Nov 18, 2025 4:17 pmThose were bad mistakes by a QB. I'm not sure it was because of the gameplan, or the play call though. Sam has to learn to not let things snowball. He is so worried about making a big play after a big mistake that he compounds the problem, IMO.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Nov 18, 2025 4:14 pmYes, i think Kubiak was out-gameplanned by the Rams' DC and perhaps outcoached although the Seahawks gained ov3r 400 yards.

Apparently Grubb is doing quite well.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Nov 18, 2025 6:18 pmNobody, here or in the media I believe was inferring Grubb was a bad OC. The issue was it being a bad fit. Even Grubb admitted he struggled with the NFL style. I read somewhere that him and MM discussed how he would adapt to the NFL before he was hired but the fact is it became a struggle. I bet it was as much a mutual parting of the ways as it was getting fired. How is Alabama doing these days? I haven't checked. I'm going to guess he's happier back in the college ranks
"Grubb finally making it to Tuscaloosa has turned Ty Simpson from just another guy into a Heisman contender, has put the offense in the right position at key moments to beat four straight ranked teams in a row, and even has the running game on an upward swing after a long streak of inconsistency from the running back position."

I'm not O Line expert, but the pocket seems cleaner, the backs don't seem to be eluding tacklers before the LOS nearly as often, and the offense just seems to be more functional. I realize some of that could very well be scheme, but your point on Darnold isn't a bad one either. The Hawks had a pretty functional pass game last year, even with Geno at QB.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Nov 18, 2025 8:35 pm
I just don't agree with you that the O line is way better this year or even that Darnold is significantly better than Geno. It seemed that Grubb was trying to run the same offense he ran at UW where he had an elite O line and play action wasn't deemed useful or necessary.

The main improvement, as DB noted earlier, has been with a healthy Lucas at RT. Sundell is a better pass protector than Olu but a worse run blocker. And Zabel, though a decent pass protector has been a poor run blocker. So i think they improved the pass protection but may have regressed slightly on run blocking.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I think Laken Tomlinson was pretty much below average. Everyone we played at RT was below average to Shitty when Lucas was out, which was most of the season, and Sundell is better than Olu who was about the same as the guy that retired mid season. They are also a much more cohesive unit, at least that is how it appears to me. The only piece of the line last year that was as good as it is now is the one guy that remains the fixture at LT, and I think he is better this year than last.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Nov 18, 2025 9:44 pmThe main improvement, as DB noted earlier, has been with a healthy Lucas at RT. For what it's worth PFF gave Tomlinson a 62 last year and Zabel a 47 so far this season.

Don't you usually discount PFF, or am I thinking of someone else? I have t heard much bad about Zabel, but who knows? Maybe PFF is right and he is dog shit.

Just thinking he's colorful, controversial, people can hate him but you get a kick out of his opinions.Michael K. wrote: ↑Tue Nov 18, 2025 7:56 pmNot sure about the "Donald Trump" part...don't even know what that means. But where is Colin wrong?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Nov 18, 2025 6:24 pmCowherd on the Seahawks. Is he kinda like the Donald Trump of football analysts?
"Seattle is a young team, and young teams can often struggle to find an identity; the Seahawks don't. Darnold strangely fits them perfectly......Darnold, even with four picks, feels like he is a perfect fit for the young, youthful, little more mistake-prone Seahawks. In the Seahawks had three losses, they had multiple giveaways, and they're still all one-possession losses.""You get into the octagon with the Seahawks and they're just bringing massive athleticism and they're going to make mistakes and they're going to come at you a hundred miles an hour. Again, if (Matthew) Stafford threw four picks, Rams would lose ugly. Seattle throws four on the road. Gets the ball kicked down to the one-inch line and almost wins it. Seattle has just so much athleticism, and it's a wildly dynamic team to watch. The last team I want to play in the playoffs, honest to God, would be Seattle; you'd better be prepared for a fight."
Do you see darnold as a perfect fit?
