Carmelo in Fall league first week

Jonny Farmelo, OF, Peoria (SEA No. 7/MLB No. 75)
Stats: .250 AVG (3-for-12), 3B, 8 RBIs, 2 BB, 2 SB
Farmelo only collected three hits over his first three games, but he made them count. His 8 RBIs were easily the most of any player during the first week of play, buoyed by a five-RBI performance against Salt River on Friday. Farmelo lined a three-run double as part of that contest, driving in additional runs on a single and a forceout. He also walked twice and stole two bases this week, displaying the all-around impact potential within the 29th overall pick from the 2023 Draft.

LL on Farmelo
A healthy Farmelo looked to me to be the best player in this system. That’s a packed competition, but there’s nobody who can combine Farmelo’s offensive balance and defensive brilliance, even if it’s in center field instead of on the infield dirt, particularly until we see Felnin Celesten in affiliated ball. That’s the prospect Seattle will be hoping they get to cultivate for the long haul

There wasn't a lot of enthusiasm for the selection at the time but the Mariners with possibly another top 100 candidate according to this baseball America writer, Luke Stevenson
Though he was of the best defensive catchers in the 2025 draft class, there were major questions about Stevenson’s ability to hit heading into draft day. Post-draft, Stevenson worked hard to answer those questions, hitting .280/.460/.400 over 22 games with Low-A Modesto.
While strong production is expected of Power Four college hitters against Low-A competition, Stevenson’s underlying data gives reasons for optimism. His 15.1% zone-whiff rate is excellent, and he also showed a patient but not passive approach at the plate. He displayed at least average raw power with a 104.9 mph 90th percentile exit velocity and an impressive air-pull%.
With advanced defensive abilities, Stevenson could prove in 2026 that his early professional hitting production was no fluke. If so, he should waltz into the Top 100 Prospects list by the end of next season
