They will discount his time with us but probably cost himself $10s of millions with that performance.
Poor guy, I don’t know how he’s gonna survive.

Made only $80 mil so far.

All while slaving away playing baseball.

I'm not sure how much teams are going to value Geno's bat.

In the last 10 years, his 49 HR's is very "empty" compared to other sluggers.

Geno's not even a TTO slugger like Adam Dunn.

Homeruns are pretty much his only trick. Which, is something. His wRC+ was 125, so his bat was still 25% better than average. Jorge Polanco had a 132 this season.

But compared to anybody else putting up those homeruns in the last 10 years, Geno's bat is pretty impotent.

Check out the wRC+ of players with 49 HR over the last 10 years. Most are worth waaaaay more than the average player.

Geno's kind of in a class of his own. I dont think he'll get a very impressive contract personally.

And I sure wouldnt give it to him.
He was a 142 OPS+ guy in AZ, but only a 94 with us. His WAR with AZ was 3.3 BWAR in 106 games in exactly 1/2 the games (53)he was with worth on 0.3 WAR. He was on track for 5 WAR with them and I think that is a pretty fair rate.

I think that his numbers in AZ should also be discounted as well their stadium is also a mile high so the balls fly further and they bend less. So a double advantage for guys like Geno.
Vs.
Seattle which has the worst environment for hitters in baseball, except for Josh Nails.
A mile high (1000 ft above sea level)? Warm weather but played in a temperature controlled stadium. They are ranked 3 at a park factor of 103 for hitting but 20th on list for HRs
Ya, fk all my bad. I did a D-backs altitude stadium and it spat that out. NAU has a Dome and that is up near 7K fk all.

The Mets have been running pretty high payrolls for a number of years and it doesn't seem to work for them.

Sodomojo suggests Alec Burleson and Brandon Lowe. Both put up 1.9 bWAR which is meh but both put up about a .800 OPS. Alec thanks to his .290 BA and Lowe due to his 31 HRs. Both would primarily be DH.
