What's the latest on the Seattle Supersonics expansion. Have heard nothing for close to a year.

Is it ever going to happen?
They talk about it, and then not talk about it, etc. It's at least a few years away.

I don't get it, 32 teams would be ideal, they'd come up huge in Seattle, probably likewise in Vegas, and they just won't do it. Probably just as well, if they expanded Vegas would probably be in the playoffs every season while the Nupersonics (as in new, get it?) end up being cellar-dwellars.
Here is my nutjob take. I think if the owners wanted expansion it would have happened in the past 17.5 years, don't ya think. I wouldn't be surprised if they just keep talking about it to keep cities that think they have a chance at a team interested in the NBA.

I think they're going to do it, and I doubt that anyone besides Vegas and Seattle is going to leapfrog those two cities.

Within the next few years they'll have two shitty men's teams playing at Climate Pledge Arena. The Storm will probably be the biggest draw.

Yep I predict it will be a repeat of the Kraken, there will be the novelty of a new team but then fans will realize none of the Sonics legends will be on the team and it will be a bunch of one and done punks, foreigners and Development league guys nobody has ever heard of and then they will watch the current style of play of the NBA and it will be yesterdays news within a couple years.

Totally agree with the 'current style of play' comment. I watched a TikTok video the other day. This NBA guy took 3 full steps, and THEN did a step through move for 2 more steps and threw up a shot. That's FIVE steps without a travel being called. And don't even get me started about PALMING the ball, it's ludicrous.
