Why do they never call plays where a guy is just wide up?

They run play action with the expectation that Kupp is going to be open... instead he's covered like a blanket and it's a free sack.

And then we get a joke 1st down...

What a weird football team.

That was the play call...
It's stupid to roll him out to the left. He can't see downfield in a position to throw with any zip or accuracy.

One would think that MM would be coaching to Darnold's strengths. One would also think that he would question some of the awkward play-calling.
