Rest of the off season poll
Re: Rest of the off season poll
Now I will say if Arraez reverts back to his 2023 self and starts hitting like Rod Carew again you will have an absolute steal for sure. I would rather give up just prospects for CJ though.

Re: Rest of the off season poll
I'd just do both. Dipoto doesnt like Arraez types, so it's a moot point anyways, I get that.
I like Arraez because he's a bounceback candidate that only costs cash and there aren't any power bats available. His bat just fits our lineup imo.
And Abrams seems like a good 2B/SS option.
The real problem I see with Arraez is he'd push either Raley or Robles off the team, probably Raley. Which would be a shame if mashing Raley was ever actually going to show back up.
Re: Rest of the off season poll
Yeah like I said Raley is exactly what Polanco was after the 2024 season. Hollander indicated the the have a plan to have all four of Robles, Raley, Canzone and obviously Rob Ref on the OD roster.bpj wrote: ↑Thu Jan 29, 2026 5:20 pmI'd just do both. Yep Arraez would need to DH quite a bit so that would be a problem.

I didn't even remember they picked that guy up.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Jan 29, 2026 5:43 pmYeah like I said Raley is exactly what Polanco was after the 2024 season. So he already pushes either Robles or Raley out doesnt he?
Arozarena, Julio, Robles/Refsnyder/Raley/Canzone...
How many outfielders do you need?
I guess you can call Raley a backup 1B, but he hits lefty like Naylor so it doesn't really fit their strategy..
And you can plop Canzone at DH I guess.
I still don't know why they signed Refsnyder...

Re: Rest of the off season poll
The only problem is that JP will be our shortstop no matter what this year, so we might as well wait until after the season's over to visit this. Otherwise, Abrams would be a solid addition, I don't know if he's going to get any better than he is but he has been a very consistently good player the last three years.
Re: Rest of the off season poll
Abrams does seem like a good fit at 2B for a year until flat footed JP Crawford leaves after the season though doesn't he?DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 29, 2026 5:58 pmThe only problem is that JP will be our shortstop no matter what this year, so we might as well wait until after the season's over to visit this. Re: Rest of the off season poll
That would be great, except that he probably wouldn't be too happy about being moved to second, and we'd probably grumble all season about having our best shortstop being out of position.bpj wrote: ↑Thu Jan 29, 2026 6:01 pmAbrams does seem like a good fit at 2B for a year until flat footed JP Crawford leaves after the season though doesn't he?DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 29, 2026 5:58 pmThe only problem is that JP will be our shortstop no matter what this year, so we might as well wait until after the season's over to visit this. Re: Rest of the off season poll
It's actually pretty simple Robles and Raley will platoon in right field and canzone and Rob will platoon at DHbpj wrote: ↑Thu Jan 29, 2026 5:58 pmI didn't even remember they picked that guy up.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Jan 29, 2026 5:43 pmYeah like I said Raley is exactly what Polanco was after the 2024 season. Re: Rest of the off season poll
If they want to use Cal at DH then one of the those guys will have to be on the bench obviously.
It is total Frankenstein roster construction and if they would have just got one good right fielder they could have had another utility in Fielder but now they only have room for one. It's just idiotic
