Bummer, although I don't know if Evans has much of an MLB future. Minor league stats are pretty blah and it's surprising that he actually did okay in a Mariner uniform last year.

Well...if you're going to have it happen...then now is better I guess. 1-5 is set in the rotation.
Then you got Hancock. Plus a few rookie arms to pitch a few games by the break.
Also, didn't they just invite a few veteran arms to camp?
Other than bullpen...Pitching is not really their problem.
We need an infielder please Trader Jerry and cronies!

No. He had his velocity tick way up and last year in 2024. He had a long stretch where he had a two-ish ERA in the minors and then they tried to transition him to the bullpen and that wrecked him and brought his ERA way up over three.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 30, 2026 9:34 pmBummer, although I don't know if Evans has much of an MLB future. I can’t believe they’ve sat on their hands all offseason. I don’t care if they thought Marte or Brandon was the perfect fit. They could have got Lowe or whoever.ffsseattlefan-daBronx wrote: ↑Fri Jan 30, 2026 9:44 pmWell...if you're going to have it happen...then now is better I guess. 1-5 is set in the rotation.

He has no future in our rotation and like you said his conversion to the pen was a fail. Only way this impacts the team is if we have SP injuries again given he is the best of the scrap heap.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Fri Jan 30, 2026 9:57 pmNo. He had his velocity tick way up and last year in 2024. This makes Hancock and Dunning the #6 and #7 starters, or vice-versa depending how things shake out in spring.
Re: Logan Evans - UCL Surgery - Out for Season
Significantly increases the chances for an Anderson debut the summer.

Anderson is a prospect I hope lives up and debuts quickly (and not rushed), would be nice to have a lefty in the rotation
