It’s exactly what it is. Fuck ESPN. Like DT said, just repeating what has been out there since Paul died, and acting like it’s new news.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 1:32 amTo put that out 9 days before the SB is sketchy at best. It's almost like someone at ESPN wants to create a distraction for Seattle but that's the conspiracy theory side me talking. Hey, isn't ESPN headquartered in New England? Coincidence...D-train wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 1:14 amHeard that! So this is just like when that Dumb Fuck Carzano did the same thing a few years ago and everyone freaked out and it was complete bullshit. They are just regurgitating the clause in the Trust that has no finite deadline. Idiots.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Fri Jan 30, 2026 11:14 pmCouple of slimeball espn hacks putting this out there when there's no way Jodie or the Seahawks released it to anyone. Tabloid level stuff whether it's true or not.

Re: Report: Seahawks will go up for sale after Super Bowl
This shows what a dumb fuck Steve Ballmer is. This is why he said he couldn't buy the Sonics for $350M in 2006. He later paid $2 BILLION for the Clippers who still have never been to the NBA Finals. He took over MSFT as CEO in Jan. 2000 when the Stock was $59 a share and stepped down over 14 years later when the stock was at $38 a share.
Now 12 years later it is $430 a share!!!!

What caused MS stock to blow up over the past 10 years? Was it their acquisitions of Bluzzard, Linkedin etc?
Anyone else see this about Balmer last year?

It's not just the same story, it's that the seahawks have been in communication with the league about putting the team up for sale
Sale discussions have taken place at ownership and league levels for at least the past week, the sources said

The timing of this was inappropriate IMO. "Discussions" leaked by anonymous sources that may have been going on for months and don't necessarily indicate an imminent sale should not be reported on when that team is playing in the SB in 9 days.

Yeah, it's the context that matters. But it's news, it's reasonable to report it

So the Seahawks are lying or were the discussions were mischaracterized?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 7:24 pmYeah, it's the context that matters. But it's news, it's reasonable to report it

So who had the sale discussions that you quoted? And what was the nature of the discussion.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 7:38 pmLied about what, they said the team isn't for sale which it's notD-train wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 7:25 pmSo the Seahawks are lying or were the discussions were mischaracterized?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 7:24 pmYeah, it's the context that matters. Seahawk Employee: Fyi we might sell the team in the future
Janitor at the Hotel where the meetings were held: Oh really, interesting.
