Ive been out of the loop on the rumor mill because I have been paying more attention to Football. It seems like Duran is still available. I wonder if there is any chance were still kicking the tires on him. The Common thought is that we need an infielder but infield is where all of our near horizon prospects are at. Farmello and Montes still seem like they are a couple years away at the soonest as outfielder prospects. Right now we have Dom Canzone and Victor Robles penciled in for right field and DH. That's pretty underwhelming if you ask me. Plus Randy is in his final year of control. Hopefully they are focusing on more than just infielders at this point.

If Montes hits well this year he will be ready next year.

We got four guys for right field and dh. They're not great but that's plenty of dudes.

Dude hit .213 with a .752 OPS in AA last year. Not exactly forcing his way up the ladder.

We got plenty of "Dudes" for infield too. We just need to get a legit Bat and I don't care where it comes from.

I know that is why I said IF he hits. I don't know of any OFers still on the market.

Here is the full quote from Jerry:
“There’s one more move that’s in us, that we want to make, and we’ve been grinding hard for the last handful of days to see if we can bring it through, and hopefully we do. … Our lineup took a huge step forward last year. Obviously we’ll be short a couple of bats that were there with us in Toronto to finish the season, but we get a full year of Josh Naylor. We get the upswing of our players as they get more exposure, especially Cole Young, who I think is going to break out for us this year. And I do hope there’s one more player coming along for the ride that might not be in a Mariners uniform just yet.”

I really wish he wouldn't put it on Cole Young to save the season.

I wonder what it was about hit 3-51 death spiral slump to finish the season and him getting benched an left off the playoff roster that made Jerry think that Cole Young was going to break out this season???

M's start in 9 days not 45.
Dipoto said before or during Spring Training. Thats February and March
He didn't specify the time but we know Donovan will be pulled off the market by the 12th. btw who exactly is going to be playing in the WBC that will give Emerson more opportunities. Insane how they make shit up and expect people to believe. He will get more opportunities because they didn't bother to fill out the roster properly.
“I do think there is one more player that is coming along for the ride that is not in a Mariners uniform just yet,” Dipoto said.

WBC creates spring training opportunity for M’s prospects
Another topic addressed was the World Baseball Classic, which will take a large number of players out of Mariners camp.

“We have in the organization 19 players on preliminary rosters – 13 are associated with the big league team – and we think we will lose 11 when it starts,” Dipoto said. “Only the Dodgers have more.”

This leaves huge opportunity for the Mariners’ prospects in spring training. Dipoto relayed a conversation he had with Colt Emerson earlier in the day, with his message being to take advantage of the runway we are giving you. He’s excited to see what the 20-year-old top prospect is able to do.

I still don't get why you think it was going to be during ST. He never said that and the trade went down Before ST like I said it had to.

He actually did say it. I posted the audio for you below.

It looks like it took a 3rd team to get it over the line, probably because they weren't willing to move Laz Montez(rumored to being discussed in preliminary talks). Here's Mariner Mojo who had a private 1-on-1 with Jerry at Fanfest.
