It's a typical fantasy baseball trade offer. Give up a bunch of crap players for one good player. Never works. People are suckers to fall for that.

Thanks to Donovan we don't have to throw both Young and Emerson out there with our fingers crossed, just whichever one has the better spring training.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Feb 05, 2026 7:29 pmKramer confirms it will play out exactly how I thought it would.

RF needs some bounce back to 2024 levels too but yeah not to shabby!DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 05, 2026 8:16 pmThanks to Donovan we don't have to throw both Young and Emerson out there with our fingers crossed, just whichever one has the better spring training.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Feb 05, 2026 7:29 pmKramer confirms it will play out exactly how I thought it would.

Right now we've got seven totally sure things in our everyday lineup. Our only worries are if JP reverts to 2024 form and if we play one of the youngsters and he's not up to it. Gotta like that.
If Raley and Robles could come back healthy and put up some numbers like they did before, it would be huge. Their injuries last year probably hurt more than the pitching ones did.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Feb 05, 2026 8:25 pmRF needs some bounce back to 2024 levels too but yeah not to shabby!DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 05, 2026 8:16 pmThanks to Donovan we don't have to throw both Young and Emerson out there with our fingers crossed, just whichever one has the better spring training.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Feb 05, 2026 7:29 pmKramer confirms it will play out exactly how I thought it would.

Good chance JP is batting ninth especial if Cole is in AAA.bpj wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 1:02 amIf Raley and Robles could come back healthy and put up some numbers like they did before, it would be huge. I like our RF better than our LF at this point.
Pretty great outfield overall, with Canzone as a 5th OF.. wow.
Wish they could've added the talent to push JP back to batting 9th, but it's as solid of a lineup as we've had in years.
Yep, my kind of player.D-train wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 3:35 amI bet you are a big Donovan fan Marty. .287 BA and only a 13% K rate. Plays great D all over the field. Chalk it up to the fact that after a series of lousy draft picks over the years, Jerry’s player development/evaluation team finally got it right.
Now they’re able to secure solid position players, from a position of strength, a rarity until the last few years.
This trade was a steal.
I think they are necessary for a healthy lineup. Stick one in front of a couple of big boppers.Hy Feiber wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 3:33 amYep, my kind of player.D-train wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 3:35 amI bet you are a big Donovan fan Marty. .287 BA and only a 13% K rate. JP should be one of those two but for some reason he thinks he is a HR hitter.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 11:06 amI think they are necessary for a healthy lineup. Stick one in front of a couple of big boppers.
I mean, his OBP isn't that much lower than Donovan's. But his OPS is about 70 pts lower. From everything I'm hearing about Donovan is that we will love him. Like I said, I am a firm believer that hitting is contagious. Polanco was good at extending innings. I still hope we can bring Jorge back.D-train wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 3:03 pmJP should be one of those two but for some reason he thinks he is a HR hitter.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 11:06 amI think they are necessary for a healthy lineup.
