I saw it brought up on Reddit, probably where they saw it. That's a good point about walks. Thats something AI should have come up with when I asked. I wonder if I used a higher power of AI? If you drill into their approaches that's really the basic difference. I didn't think about that. Julio is just a much more aggressive hitter. That gets brought up about Julio, if he'd only change. But I don't know if it's that simple. Some hitters are just more aggressive. In fact if you were to ask Seitzer, he might feel that was the problem last season. Julio was trying to be less aggressive. If I remember correctly his walk rate had increased the early part of the season. It's interesting, I think it's s tough thing to balance.

Ask AI again
Julio Rodríguez's career walk rate is approximately 6.8%, generally ranking below the league average as he maintains an aggressive approach at the plate. While his 2024 season saw a low walk rate (6.2%), he showed potential for improved patience in early 2025, starting with a 16.7% walk rate in limited, early-season action
He showed potential for improved patience and his numbers went in the toilet. Everybody was hammering him for being stupid when I think the issue was his thinking about it too much

He needs to chase less and walk more. The way they pitch him, his walk totals should be closer to 100 per year.
So much this. Walks will equal more hits in the future.
I’ve said in the past if I’m an opposing pitcher I don’t throw him anything close to the plate when he’s in “chase mode” as he’ll get himself out swinging at pitches a foot off the plate.
