He doesn't have Mastrobuoni's defensive value
What was the purpose of signing him, was it just to occasionally fill in at DH and pinch hit?
Yeah, from the right side of the plate. He was signed because since 2022 he's probably been the best hitter in baseball against left handed hitting. He's been an elite specialist. Maybe he will crater who knows. But I thought dipoto being willing to spend $6 MIL for a specialized piece like that showed a commitment to making the playoffs again. I liked the signing

Since 2022
3rd in MLB for OBP against lefties (.407), 6th in Average (.312), and 7th in OPS (.924) [min. 400 PA]

IT could be a case of one year too late. I am still hopeful that he is just off to a slow start.

On a good note I was impressed with the work Young put into his body and his game in they offseason and he had a good Spring and has looked like the 2B of the now and the future.

Raley and Donavan have been terrific. Today’s loss puts us back to .500 but it has all been against contenders :?

We need to win on Wed.

Slow start? It's been 8 at bats so far. I know it's hard to be patient but it's going to take weeks to begin to get a read

Good thing we had the right handed bats in today against all the lefties or things could have looked really ugly...
