Credit? I think that's how it works. I think they held on to Young because his analytics pointed to power. Be interesting if he's got some, hope so

Yeah,, I hope Young continues to develop some power, what's wrong with that? You're going to get so invested in your narrative you will end up rooting against himMichael K. wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2026 1:12 pmHope in one hand and shit in the other....let me know which one fills up first.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2026 6:45 pm

I’m glad you brought this up, I couldn’t think of the guy, but that was a complete disaster.
To guarantee 95 million bucks to a 20 year-old kid who’s accomplished nothing, is absurd.
He’d have to have superhuman maturity beyond his years to adjust properly.

You are basing your trust in a Front Office executive off of what you hope happens, that's what's wrong with that.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2026 2:41 pmYeah,, I hope Young continues to develop some power, what's wrong with that? Actually it doesn't really have to do with dipoto, the analytics are there for anyone to take a look at. I'm as curious about the Dbacks wanting him as dipoto keeping him.Michael K. wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2026 4:32 pmYou are basing your trust in a Front Office executive off of what you hope happens, that's what's wrong with that.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2026 2:41 pmYeah,, I hope Young continues to develop some power, what's wrong with that? Comments like that from people not associated with the mariners
I'm curious to see how it plays out, particularly since he hadn't shown a great deal of power in the minors. The relationship between analytics and actual production. And yeah, I have a dog in the fight, I'm a mariners fan. I am rooting for Young as I assume you are as well. You shouldn't let your anti-dipoto bias cloud your appreciation of perhaps a really fun experience.League evaluators have also taken notice of Young. Described by some as the current “league model darling,” Young’s metrics continue to highlight that untapped side. Especially in the power department. Earlier in the season, his pull-air rate (the percentage of batted balls that are both pulled and hit in the air) sat at 30.6%. Second on the team behind power hitter Cal Raleigh.

Dipoto is the man behind every head scratching move this cheap ass organization has made for the past decade plus. How the FUCK is it not about him? He read all of the break downs all of these guys post in here about the fucked up moves this dude makes that haven't been close to working out, and you see "it's not about Dipoto"? Sorry, I am now over this discussion because you aren't even speaking the same language as anyone else. Who paid Evan White? Who tried to pay Kelenic? Who decided after one disaster and only avoiding another by luck...that they should employ that strategy again?
You must be a member of the Seattle media. I don't know how anyone can spin this into "it's not about Dipoto".

What head scratching move? I said I'm hoping Cole Young develops the power his analytics might indicate. Terms of Dipoto's head scratching moves, they remind me how JS can make head scratching movesMichael K. wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2026 12:52 pmDipoto is the man behind every head scratching move this cheap ass organization has made for the past decade plus. You read the same posts in here. Are you fucking kidding me? His bonehead moves have been discussed over and over in here. You are a frustrating little man, you know that? You said this isn't about Dipoto, the entire last decade has been about Dipoto.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2026 3:59 pm

I am not kidding, I don't understand the relationship. I said I'm curious to see if Cole Young develops power, what does that have to do with head scratching moves? Aren't you curious to see if he develops power?Michael K. wrote: ↑Fri Apr 03, 2026 3:28 pmYou read the same posts in here. Are you fucking kidding me?
