Colin Cowherd recently compared the situation with Jalen Hurts in Philadelphia to the eventual decline and departure of Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks
The analyst believes that Jalen Hurts is a product of the system who is being paid and treated like a system lifter. Colin Cowherd noted that this fundamental imbalance is starting to cause resentment and performance issues that could ultimately fracture the entire Eagles organization

My thoughts -
Hurts and RW are very similar in that their mobility is a large part of their game, and, mobility goes down hill faster than just pure passing ability. But Hurts is currently only 27. Philly is going down the road to FAFO by running off Hurts. Hurts has been shit on since college when his coach benched him in the fourth quarter of the Nat Championship game for Tua. Tua is now washed and Hurts has a ring. I think Hurts is a gamer. A calculated cool cucumber competitor. I realize he's not a great passer. Unlike Seattle with RW, I think Philly will regret running off Hurts when that inevitably happens and Hurts will have some success for a new team, at least for a few years.

I am not following the Eagles or Hurts in particular but that's not going to hinder me having an opinion. I had understood they've been going through OCs. I brought this up before in terms of losing Kubiak. The price of success and the need to maintain continuity with your system. Is this a Hurts issue or a system issue. Has Hurts gotten stupid or is the Eagles system now struggling to take advantage of him? RW is one thing but there's a flip side. The last thing the eagles want to do is be another Vikings. Cast off a qb in his prime to have him succeed someplace else.

Yup, just because I have an opinion about everything doesn't mean Im opinionated ...Though it wasn't really an opinion as it was a question. Is the issue more Hurts or the Eagles system?

I've been quasi following Hurts since college. I like QBs that run..
He probably does need a strong supporting cast and a good defense to succeed, but I think most teams do. Darnold sure as hell does. It just feels like the Eaglets.Org and their fans are wanting to move on. I think it's a mistake at this time.

They won football games throwing it less. AJ didn't like that, so they changed, and didn't win football games anymore. So? Must be Jalen's fault? It's pretty dumb if you ask me. Move on from AJ, have the offense go back to run first, when Barkley was actually an MVP canidate...and see what happens. But moving on from Jalen so you can make AJ happy? AJ aint gonna be happy unless he is called the best WR in football. He'd be happy with that even if they lost. The dude is a cancer. They should trade him to the Rams.
