Do you remember the story about the Seattle woodcarver John T. Williams? Sad story.
At about 4:15 p.m. on August 30, 2010, Birk was driving his patrol car and saw Williams near Boren Avenue and Howell Street. The dashboard camera of Birk's patrol car showed Williams walk "through the crosswalk, hunched over (with) something in his hands, then disappear(ing) offscreen". Birk emerged from his patrol car with his pistol drawn. Birk yelled, "Hey", "Hey… Hey!", "Put the knife down", "Put the knife down. Put the knife down!" Less than 5 seconds after the first "Hey", the sound of gunshots was recorded on the camera. Williams had been holding a "scrap of wood" and "a single-blade pocketknife".
Officers who arrived on the scene after the shooting and nearby witnesses later observed that the knife Williams was carrying was closed.

Woman shot dead by ICE agent in Minneapolis
Re: Woman shot dead by ICE agent in Minneapolis
IMO this is the ultimate example of FAFO. These people were harrassing law enforcement personnel who were just trying to do thier jobs. No, she didn't deserve to die, but she put herself in that position when she CHOSE to participate in harrassment. Situations escalate - but not if you aren't antagonizing the situation. Sorry, it sucks that she died - but it is 100% her own fault. This is not an exhoneration of the agent - but rather pointing out the common sense of not antagonizing and/or threatening other people - armed officers - which she was 100% involved in. She is responsible for the consequences of her actions.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2026 10:26 pmI wonder how he feels about what he did, especially considering it turned out she was just a dumbass who was trying to leave and not run him over. There's a good chance that he'll tell himself that she was trying to kill him so that he doesn't feel guilty about what he did.douche wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2026 8:04 pmNew report out about the agent who shot Renee Good (Jonathan Ross) being quietly relocated to a different state.
"Senior Department of Homeland Security officials have told the Daily Beast’s new sister investigations outlet—launched earlier this month by this correspondent—that agent Jonathan Ross, 43, has effectively been shielded from ICE’s own accountability process because the FBI investigation into Good’s killing has stalled.
Ross is now performing administrative and investigative duties three months after he shot Good, 37, in the arm, breast, and head as she tried to drive away from an ICE operation on January 7. On his own cellphone video, the agent can be heard muttering “f---ing b---h” as Good’s Honda Pilot crashed into a parked car with her dying inside."

Did you know that the Russian pilot who shot down KAL 007 did that? He made himself believe for the rest of his life that it was a spy plane he shot down so that he wouldn't have to deal with the guilt of killing all those people. People apparently can make themselves do that.
Now, what I find most interesting is how this story has died out. I have not seen anything about it - and I am very curious if that is intentional - because if this was to go to trial - could it be discovered they were paid protestors? THAT'S what I want to know. If they were, that opens up a huge huge huge situation and exposes A LOT - and a possible paper trail revealing who is really behind these paid protests and the funding - and where exactly it is coming from. The Dems would never want that revealed - so I would 100% imagine prosecutors are in no rush to get to trial and have that question asked by the defense.
That's when shit would get real, and whomever was paying thgem, if they were, would likely be financially culpable, and again - that would reveals who is behind the curtain. 99% chance tax money is being diverted and used to pay for these protests - and there are a lot of people that can't have that kind of exposure - that is 100% fraud.
That's what I want to know - the root cause of these clearly-not-organic 'protests'.

Aurora: I'm curious why you think (1) the protests are not organic, and (2) the protesters are being paid via tax money. I've heard a lot of people say these things, but I don't know of any evidence that this is the rule, rather than a rare exception.auroraave wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2026 4:05 pmIMO this is the ultimate example of FAFO. I went to the "no kings" protest in Shoreline a few weeks back, and it certainly "seemed organic" to me. For example, the preponderance of hand made, one off signs.
Re: Woman shot dead by ICE agent in Minneapolis
I would agree with the notion of avoiding the escalation of any situation involving law enforcement.
As for whoever is behind the curtain... I don't think we'll ever know because even if there was a paper trail, it would be scrubbed.
Watch Edge of Darkness with Mel Gibson. Although fictional, it touches on the corruption and back door negotiations that involve getting rid of 'troublemakers', the people who want justice but will never find it. The bigger things at play (back room deals, payoffs, etc.) determine how things pan out. And when greedy corporations and lots of money is involved, there's only one way it's going to go.

To be clear there ARE organic protests, and social media is likely a huge coordinator of them - but step back for a moment - there have been protests nearly weekly for 5,6,7 years now. You think that's "organic"? No civilization sits around protesting for years and years and years - that's absurd.gil wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2026 4:15 pmAurora: I'm curious why you think (1) the protests are not organic, and (2) the protesters are being paid via tax money. (Tax) Money is given to NGO's - who have ZERO accountability for how it's spent and this is how ,money is funnelled into these 'protests'. Not all, but to some degree - that degree I do not pretend to know.
I came upon a 'no kings' protest in Santa Monica aweeks back - I was out on my bike and literally had no idea what it was or what it mean - but two things of note - people were getting off busses - these were coaches - these were being rented (and not cheap) - money was being spent and the busses parked under cover - conveniently out of view of the helicopters. Who rents luxury motor coaches to go "protest"? I saw this with my own eyes. Secondly, I was curious what was going on and I asked a protester what "no kings' meant and they yammered on with the sloganeering about "OMG Trump thinks he's a king" and when I said "wasn't he elected by a majority?" they, of course, got mad and called me names as they stormed off.
I literally LOL'd - these people were zombies. I;ve seen video's of 'protestors' getting interviewed and saying 'they were doing it for the money'. Kamala Harris 'rally' attendees - did you know they were hired and bussed and housed in hotels all over the country for her 'events'? Obv not all of them, but understand the reality - her campaign was PAYING people to be 'fans' - and don't forget they were paying celeb's to endorse her. Those are cold hard facts.
Oddly, it's been quiet lately - but think back to the last ten years - nothing but non stop protesting - remember George Floyd? Remember all the death and destruction - over a career criminal? You think that was organic? It's mass manipulation - organization - and funding.
I support protesting, but protesting is the new "OMG you're racist" as far as it being uttely beaten to death and serving no real purpose anymore except to encourage chaos and distraction.
