When Colt was raking with minimal power but great contact rates and a high OBP in A ball, I was told by all the amateur geniuses that he was sure to naturally develop power as he got older and "Filled out". My concern is that he would have to alter his approach to do so. Well he has now developed 20-25 HR power but surprise, surprise he now is hitting .227 with almost a 30% K rate. Just shocking. :?

Who would have ever thought that over swinging for power, since that's what gets you paid, would impact your contact and K rate? Oh, wait, everyone. But let's pay him anyway, before someone else does. I mean, it worked so well with White, and would have been such a success story if JK had just signed. Why not go for third times a charm?

Gentle reminder that Jerry DiPoto won Exec of the year last season so you can't question his brilliance!!!

Billy Beane's philosophy is that it is better to trade a player one year too early than one year too late. Our exec. of the year POBO obviously doesn't agree....And now we are stuck with a $40 million pound Albatross with Dreads....

I was just looking at the Asstros' top ten prospects and they aren't any better. Weird how these young top players are being outperformed by many of their teammates who will never even make it to The Show.

I saw a post on X that said that Seth Hernandez is getting promoted from low a ball too high a and somebody said that he has way more upside than Cade. I said let me know when he puts up those stats in double A that Cade has.

It couldn't be for a simple reason like he was playing with an injured wrist, in which he kept playing and took a cortisone shot for the pain. For those who have not had one, it takes a few days for the cortisone to really help so it took a minute for him to feel better. When he did feel better he did this:

Colt had a great week in a six-game series in El Paso, going 10 for 28 (.357) to raise his average from .223 to .254. He also had two home runs – one of which you really need to see, because Emerson reached the top of the batter’s eye at Southwest University Park on Friday off of a LHP ....there is a nice video of it in the link below.

Zero reason for prospects to play injured. But I like this version of him better with more power I'm willing to sacrifice the higher K rate for sure
