Eventually, once he gets back to ~70%, Cal is going to reward Dan & Jerry for batting him 2nd when nobody else thought it was a good idea.

It's not so much his current situation, I've never understood batting Cal second. I understand not switching the lineup around because someone is struggling. Then you just end up trying to chase hitting streaks

I'm talking about the last 3 games after he missed several with some injury. They didn't need to put him back in the 2-hole and there was no continuity to disrupt at that point. And yes, he should not ever bat second.
