That would be the most Mariners thing ever: admit the manager is bad, then hand the job to a glorified calculator. We'll replace actual incompetence with artificial incompetence. Same results, but with 100% more spreadsheets!

I think they put Dan in a very difficult position with the Miller/Castillo piggyback plan. He's trying to be a team player but probably didn't fully buy in to the front office's concept of how to manage the situation.
