Quick Fix
Quick Fix
1. Get Brendon and Cal healthy. Speier too
2. Send Ref packing. Davis has earned a shot
3. JT to utility
4. Find a back up catcher who can actually throw out a base runner
5. Go get another leverage reliever
6. Hire a manager with some fire and brimstone
Limp into the trade deadline and see where things stand. Take Take what you have and make what you want
PS. Jerry out. DT in

Re: Quick Fix
I'm with ya.
2 - Davis is AAA ripe, gotta get his chance soon. Maybe he and Colt can spark the team.
3 - JP he should be the new Dylan Moore - a roamer. He voluntarily uprooted himself from SS and he'll never "own" the position again. Youth will be served. But I want him, he's a good late game batter, plate protector, and the best veteran presence we have, for what that's worth.
6 - a manager firing would be in order. Anyone remember George Steinbrenner? Sheesh, all it took was a nasty scowl from him and changes would be made. Wilson would have been toast by now.

Re: Quick Fix
Trade John Stanton, Dipoto, Justin, Manager Dan and throw in Arozarena (to sweeten the deal as he has value and is the playing well) to any team for randos at all of the above positions.

Re: Quick Fix
The logjam in RF is a major impediment. Four part time guys dedicated - waste of personnel and a self-inflicted hole in the lineup. Only Raley can perform at a high level. He needs a shot at every day playing to see if he can get his groove on. I'd hire some lefty dude to throw him 200? 500? pitches a day until he gets it. Wax on, wax off, you know? I hate this platooning debacle. Thought I heard Angie say that Dan needs to keep playing Refblunder and "it'll average out by the end of the year". That is now impossible, unless he starts hitting about .650. Good grief.

Re: Quick Fix
Teams these days have machines that replicate live pitching, right down to individual pitchers. I understand the Mariners have multiple. Raley would have the opportunity to practice batting against left handers, even during games. He could prepare for a particular left hander reliever. He'd have plenty of opportunity to demonstrate ability without actual game situations.

Re: Quick Fix
The mariners have two, but only one at T-Mobile. Nineteen teams so far are using them. The Dbacks don't have room for it.
The Seattle Mariners utilize the Trajekt Arc, a revolutionary pitch-replication pitching machine. Located at both their T-Mobile Park facility in Seattle and their spring training site in Peoria, Arizona, the machine uses AI and life-size video projections to accurately simulate the arm angle, release point, and pitch trajectory of any specific opposing pitcher
Re: Quick Fix
Ah, yes, I'd read about that machine a couple months ago, I like it. Looks like Mr. Miyagi has met his match
Wouldn't it be fun to dial up the greats - Sandy Koufax, Mariano Rivera, Big Sexy
