Re: It's Pride Month!
Such a weird take.DanielVogelbach wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2026 9:37 pmThe main thing to realize about the "months" is they accomplish the exact opposite of what they advertise.
Black history month creates MORE racism. It brings attention to the differences. Equality comes from not spending an entire month pointing out that certain groups are different. Moreover, the underlying message is that these groups need assistance and can't make it on their own.
Kids go to school and we spend inordinate amounts of time and energy going over the civil rights movement. Without this so-called important history lesson kids would just grow up thinking the black kids were equal. We make sure to teach them that they are NOT equal. They are different. They need their own month.
It's all so backwards.
The idea of an entire month centered around homosexual orientation is beyond messed up. And exactly why is a gay pride parade about public nudity? If the LGBTQKSDLAJFLKASDJ community really wanted equality, then they wouldn't present themselves in such degenerate fashion. But, it's not about equality, it's about celebrating the gay lifestyle. And boy do we ever celebrate it. Being gay is not a limitation in our society whatsoever. In media it's pretty much presented as the greatest thing in the entire world.
The point of teaching history is to learn from it and to gain awareness. Gay people are marginalized... your stupid tropes in this very post regarding gay people are entirely contradictory to your message... "they represent themselves in a degenerate fashion"... "the media portrays it as being the greatest thing in the entire world"... mocking them with "LGBTQKSDLAJFLKASDJ"... You're outwardly marginalizing them IN THIS POST rather than accepting their differences.
Re: It's Pride Month!
That is the point, but it never seems to be the result. There are two things that humans are completely incapable of... learning from history, and learning from their mistakes.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2026 5:41 pmThe point of teaching history is to learn from it and to gain awareness.
Gay people are marginalized? Well, a lot of different groups of people are also marginalized, but you don't see them parading down the street for an entire month complaining about it.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2026 5:41 pmGay people are marginalized... your stupid tropes in this very post regarding gay people are entirely contradictory to your message... You're right... issue is, if you don't provide education... people try to make people their slaves. Weird how that happens?douche wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2026 6:05 pmThat is the point, but it never seems to be the result. It's weird how it's always one side perpetuating the tropes that keep people marginalized.

Probably wouldn't need a Gay pride month if Republicans didn't keep slandering and attacking Gays... would you?

"Republicans" = one politician and one totally random podcaster.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2026 6:06 pmProbably wouldn't need a Gay pride month if Republicans didn't keep slandering and attacking Gays... would you?
Funny how you preach about not marginalizing people as you lump millions of people in with what those two people said.

Re: It's Pride Month!
If we were to use this definition:
"Inclusive refers to practices or policies that actively promote the participation and representation of diverse individuals, ensuring that everyone feels valued and empowered, regardless of their backgrounds or identities."
Great, right? At least in theory. But the reality is more along the lines of...
'This is an inclusive community. However, if we feel that are you behaving in a non-inclusive way, you will be excluded.'
And because this happens on both sides (conservative and liberal), perhaps all the human race is really capable of is to 'agree to disagree'.

How about we keep slandering them, and we still don't need gay month...Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2026 6:06 pmYou're right... issue is, if you don't provide education... people try to make people their slaves. Win-Win
Re: It's Pride Month!
I wonder how many people agree with you on this. I suspect a lot, unfortunately. And that means -- contrary to what a couple of people have said on this thread -- that being gay is no longer a non-issue. I would love to be wrong about this.

I agree that we should not lump millions of people together with one asshole.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2026 9:42 pm"Republicans" = one politician and one totally random podcaster.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2026 6:06 pmProbably wouldn't need a Gay pride month if Republicans didn't keep slandering and attacking Gays... would you?

On the other hand, the politician here (Miller) is the chief policy advisor to the President of the United States. Pretty important guy, and I suspect he is not just one person who is alone in his beliefs. Rather, I suspect his views are representative of thousands, if not millions of others.

Re: It's Pride Month!
It's the truth. Black History Month is designed to create racism. If you think it's designed to help blacks that's your discernment issue. Equality doesn't come from "End Racism" in the back of the NFL Endzone. Equality doesn't come from teaching our kids that blacks are different, need special treatment, and their own "month".
The "months" are about as fucked up as anything could ever be, and if you can't see that, then you're part of the problem.
Everything is about getting people to identify with their gender, orientation, race, religion, political affiliation..... This is BY DESIGN, because a truly united population is a THREAT to the control system.
