No trade clauses, I don't know what Buxton's contract looks like. Would the mariners want him bad enough to extend him?

Buxton is worth looking into to see if he would waive his no-trade, but even if he agreed to the move you would never extend him. He's said he doesn't want to leave Minnesota, but it doesn't hurt to ask. He's at the end of his career and the Twins probably won't contend for a while, so it isn't crazy that he'd change his mind.

Did you see Jude suggesting a Buxton trade?
I did.

Problem is Buxton has a no-trade clause and repeatedly has said how he has no plans of leaving the Twins.

Maybe he's just being a leader, but I'll take him at his word.
Yeah Jude mentions the ntc but no mention of how Buxton feels about the Twins. Pretty weak reporting to base an article on a trading for a guy that has gone public multiple times about wanting to be a Twin for life.

I screwed up that post. I'd say it would involve extending him. If he claims he doesn't want to leave, there needs to be something to change his mind. And the mariners aren't going to be interested

Here is someone to try after he gets through waivers... Nick Castellanos. Yes, he sucks, but he is better than Refsnyder, and a change of scenery might work. And the part that will make him a sure bet to be a Mariner...he will only cost about $700k and no players.

Giants have some interesting players that seem to fit our needs and they seem dead in the water.

I like Buxton over Devers. Maybe grab Royce Lewis while you're there.

Some interesting targets out there imo.

And there's also a relationship, they've done deals in the past, though they are under new management presently. There are some clubs Dipoto seems to do business with, Rays, Dbacks, Giants

Absolutely not, he's the kind of guy we go after each year with disastrous results. Plus, he just had a change of scenery from Philly to San Diego and it didn't help. His career is over.
