At this point for me it's like the Seahawks are playing with house money. I'm not expecting them to repeat. Unless they just get humiliated I'm not going to be disappointed if they don't. To me all that pressure is on the Rams. They're the ones that need to stop the Seahawks from partying in LA come February. If the Seahawks pulled that off it be truly epic. And when it comes to the future, I'll take the Seahawks

Sure, to me that's a given. JS isn't using a first round pick on a RB he doesn't feel can catch a football. They have already settled that with their prospect analysis. The issue is going to be reps to get him up to NFL standards doing it. I'll predict now you getting frustrated with the slow process, like you complain about them hitting Emerson ninth.

I don't see it as a complaint or fear or whatever, but I think the Seahawks are sacrificing some early season competitiveness to get their plan into place. JS has said there's going to be a learning curve with Fluery calling plays, there's going to be one with Price catching footballs. However, I think the long term plan can make it worth it.

I'll concede the Rams as the 2027 SB favorites. I believe the Seahawks are already the 2028 SB favorites and beyond. And yeah, Stafford is going to turn into a gimp. You heard it hear first.
Great post bruce!

I was thinking, the Rams games are both at the end of the season. Some interesting scheduling there. Maybe they get away with it, their development curve. The Broncos game seems kinda pivotal to me. Going to mile high week six. Denver will be coming off a short week. Seahawks hopefully have things ironed out. Denver worries me, I'm impressed with that turn around. It rivals the Seahawks.

Ross Tucker... Kinda an interesting point. Hiring MM was essentially taking advantage of a market inefficiency. The popular trend these days is hiring the offensive minded HC, the Shanahan McVay clone. So why not hire the best defensive minded coach to counter that? I can see JS thinking like that and it worked incredibly well
"What they do schematically and some of the truly unique things that they do on that side of the ball, I call (Macdonald) the defensive McVay,” Tucker said. “I call him the McVay of the defense, because I really think like with what he did with (Nick) Emmanwori, I really think he’s dictating the offenses more than they are dictating to him.

“On some level, isn’t it good in life to zig a little bit when everybody else zags?” he added. “I mean, if every single team is trying to get the next McVay or just trying to pluck from the McVay/Shanahan tree, … at some point, if everybody’s running that offense, is it really going to be that special and creative and unique?”

MM is so young. Isn't he going to get bored being a defensive guru? He should prob switch teams or special teams.

I believe I read, he's the first HC to win a SB calling defensive plays. He has said he'd like to turn the play calling over to the DC at some point. I think he's moving past that already. How he handled the Grubb situation, he had a clear picture what he wanted on offense. That's probably what's remarkable about him, his grasp of the entire process of running a football team. That's what I was concerned about and he's nailing it. He strikes me as a Bill belichick type. Belichick moved past being considered a defensive coach

And JS, I've brought it up before, his grasp of coaching. Could he coach a football team? Coaches take over the GM role, why not a GM doing the coaching?

We've hit the most desperate period of the NFL off season. The dead period between OTAs and the beginning of training camp. I'm still hunting for things to post. Seaside Joe and Seahawks draft blog are churning out content on a daily basis, that's impressive. I believe I'm finding the Seahawks off season more interesting than the mariners regular season

Jones claiming he'll be ready for training camp. That criticism seemed kinda strange. I'm gonna say it's the difference MM perceives in the effort charbonnet is making at rehab and Jones, there is a difference

"I head back Monday to Seattle, get back, grind, get ready for camp, super excited for it," Jones told Wilson at a youth football camp. "I think I'll be a full-go at the start of camp. We'll see how we work into it."
