Hawks Cowboys Game thread.
Re: Hawks Cowboys Game thread.
I would do that in a heartbeat. If Sam is our QB for 10 years and retires he still be 7 years younger than Brady when he retired

ESPN writer predicting Seahawks have a new qb on 2028 lol
ESPN's Seth Walder, amid this uncertainty, shared a bold prediction that Darnold will not be with the Seahawks come the 2028 season, just a few years after helping the Seahawks win the Super Bowl in 2025.
"Darnold will not be on the Seahawks in 2028," Walder writes. "He started last season red-hot and finished fairly strong in Seattle's Super Bowl run. But from Weeks 10 to 18, he ranked 27th out of 30 quarterbacks in QBR
Re: Hawks Cowboys Game thread.
Talk about clickbait. Not sure how the end of the 2025 regular season is going to dictate where he plays in 2028 3 years later.

There are plenty of guys with the physical tools that aren't in the league or can't get on the field. Sam Howell has the physical tools, but he has the mental capacity to process of a toddler. Milroe reminds me of a running QB that believes that coaches would rather he run around and take a sack or throw incomplete on third and five then run for six yards! It's like watching Locker under Sark. You could see his face when he would throw another incompletion on third and medium...he was hearing Sark in his ear telling him he needs to throw it. They got to 3 and 6 that year because Locker was listening to Sark, who was more concerned about getting Locker drafted then winning games. And that blows me away, since I just don't understand what coach likes incompletions on third and medium rather than a QB scrambling and picking it up.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2026 4:29 amNot really, Jalen doesnt have a noodle arm, he has the physical tools. Id say Its more a power hitter with contact issues. The payoff if you develop him is higher than a Rivas that can hit
Nothing seems to demoralize a defense more than having the passing game shut down, and the QB picks up the yards to gain anyway. But some of these guys just believe that it doesn't matter. Make no sense.

Totally agree- Locker could have/should have been so much better - Not sure what to do with Milroe....Michael K. wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2026 9:42 pmThere are plenty of guys with the physical tools that aren't in the league or can't get on the field. Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2026 3:30 amI think they want him to learn how to extend plays, not giving up on it after going through his progressions. He knows how to run and he can chuck a football. Its combining the two. He needs to learn to extend a play verically. They want him ripping it more, that is throwing it instead of bringing the ball down and running. Rememer how good RW was at that? Wilson would move around all over the place waiting for a reciever to get open and then ripping it. Thats what I think they want more of out of Milroe
I like my RW anology. I wonder what MM would think of that? They want Milroe to learn how to extend the play with his legs instead of giving up on it and running“I think the whole thing just needs — just let’s go take another step, you know?” Macdonald said. “Let’s encourage him to go rip it. I think some great things that Jalen did was extend plays with his legs, something that has been a point of emphasis with him. . . . That really helped us.”
For all quarterbacks who have speed, agility, and mobility, the constant balance is whether to hang in the pocket a little longer in search of a way to “rip it,” or whether to pull the ball down and run it.
“The play doesn’t have to end if there’s nobody to throw [to] with your progressions,” Macdonald said. “Like, you’re allowed to extend the play, you know? It’s up to you on how long the play goes.”
The Seahawks would presumably prefer that, when Milroe extends plays, he first does so horizontally. That gives his receivers a chance to get open, allowing for as much or more yardage to be gained if he had chosen to run it instead.
By extend plays Donn, do you mean take a fourteen yard sack on fourth and goal? They are telling this brainiac to run, he just won't do it. Weaponize his speed doesn't mean run around and throw the ball. Get your reads and then tuck and go. Not sure why that is so hard for some of these guys, but it sure shouldn't be.During Episode 3 of HBO's Hard Knocks, Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald enthusiastically encouraged quarterback Jalen Milroe to use his elite athleticism, famously utilizing a "more cowbell" catchphrase to describe how dangerous Milroe's rushing ability is for opposing defenses.
Context on Milroe's Rushing and Development
The "Cowbell" Metaphor: Macdonald leaned into the famous Saturday Night Live reference during coaching sessions, shouting "we want more cowbell" to emphasize his desire for Milroe to pull the ball down and punish defenses with his legs.
Explosive Gains: Macdonald noted on the show that "21-yard gains are the best," highlighting that extending plays and picking up chunk yardage on the ground opens up the offense.
Balancing the Pass: While coaches want him to weaponize his speed, the team is simultaneously working on Milroe's pocket progression, timing, and decision-making as a passer during his second NFL season

Re: Hawks Cowboys Game thread.
i think what MM is talking about with extending the play is extending the play that was called. You continue to allow the recievers to operate and go for a bigger passing play, you rip it.
Like this, RW extending the play and ripping it. This i think is just the sort of play theyd like to see out of milroe, what they want milroe to work on. What they are trying to get him to understand

Re: Hawks Cowboys Game thread.
He is on Hard Knox telling the kid to run the fucking ball dude. Stop posting random bullshit that means nothing. You want some shit to compare with RW? Guess what RW did a LOT when he was in his younger days? Picked up first fucking downs with his legs. Why don't you post those videos? Do you think Lamar got paid because of his pocket awareness?
He is flat out being TOLD to run more, but Milroe is so damn ignorant, even with his coach telling him to use his legs to gain yards, he backpedals into 14 yard sacks on fourth and goal. Jesus man, there is zero defense for how this kid plays the game as a QB right now, but sure, I bet you are right, and behind closed doors the coaches are asking him to fuck around in the pocket and eat sacks or throw the ball away.

Its not random shit, its direct quotes from his post game, its what MM is saying there.
