Huh? Why does anything have to be wrong with me to talk football? So, you though Bruce Irvin’s best position was LB?
He played SLB and DE on passing downs. He even spied Kaepernick and got better in coverage later in his career. How exactly were they supposed to use him?

You keep pushing this narrative the Hawks coaches don't know what they're doing. It's getting tiresome and boorish.

I’m not doing that at all. Just didn’t think playing end in a 4 3 was his best position. Wondered the same about Dupree. Not sure why that is such a problem, but oh well.

Irvin didn't play end in a 4-3 exclusively. And the Carroll 4-3 UNDER is closer to a 3-4 in its purest form. I can't speak for everyone but when I say sign Dupree I mean to replace Wright.

Dupree will never replace KJ because the Hawks really do not want to use LB to blitz. In the cover 1 and 3 that the Seahawks love, KJ is used to cover underneath/flat recievers/TE/RB. That position, while highly important, does not generate the sack/tackle numbers that gets players paid huge cash on the FA market. It is why KJ only has 11 sacks for his whole career....he just wasn't used that way.

It is why the Hawks need a pass rush from their DL more than any team in the league. We need better tackles to take on 3 interior OL so that blockers stay off Bobby and to a lesser extent KJ so that tackles are made in the run game and pressure the QB so that he does not have time to read where the open spots are in the zone.

The Hawks need to re sign Clowney and then sign Al Woods back and draft a run stuffer in the 3rd round or lower. Reed and Ifedi will both get big enough contracts to get 3rd round compensation in the 2021 draft. I think they need to draft one of the top O tackles, even if they need to trade up. Put him on the right side until Brown retires and then flip him over.

Dupree can cover too. KJ cannot cover anyone anymore... hence my interest in Dupree.

so that explains why Hawks may have interest in Dupree, but not vice versa - could be a hard sell to a FA looking ahead to his third contract.

Not a cut but an upgrade nonetheless. What does Hawk nation think of this idea:

Older.. veteran backs have a hard time adjusting to the "kick step " technique used here. Depends on how much they want. Seriously doubt Hawks have given up on Flowers though.
