Reading the forum lately, I'm wondering which of these things will happen first-

1) Daniel Vogelbach will say something even remotely critical of Jerry
2) Seth will make it through a game without overreacting
3) The M's will follow David Gee's advice and walk off and forfeit a game
4) The M's will win a World Series
5) Hell will freeze over

Sadly, the smart money is on option 5
1)b) Someone will respectfully disagree with Vogelbach without resorting to name-calling and/or vicious cruelty.

So, you agree that it's not "drained", right? You do realize you're serving up another straw man special here, right?

At what point did I say they were can't-miss prospects? I've said the exact opposite, which is that it's a numbers game. That's why you want to keep it stocked. I don't really know how much of it is pure luck or how much of it is impacted by the instruction they get at he lower levels, but the fact remains that if you're a small or mid-market team, your only hope is to develop young players. There is no other way to win.
The numbers you posted show our Farm system lower than it was, down from 1 to ten, and we went from the ALCS to 12th of 15 in a bad league. So, I said, the Farm that you so love is worse, and so is the team. Yep, great success.
So are you walking back your "drained" comment or no? The way the rankings work is when you bring up a prospect like Colt Emerson he is no longer considered. Going from #1 to #10 is not "drained" as evidenced by the top 100 bats that haven't been called up yet.

I love how you focus on being 12 out of 15 when like 3 game separate 6 - 12. That's classic. "Great success" is just another straw man. Straw man is your go-to, and honestly, it's annoying as fuck.

"A straw man argument is an informal logical fallacy where someone distorts, exaggerates, or misrepresents an opponent's actual position to create a weaker, easier-to-attack version, known as the "straw man," and then refutes that false version instead of the original claim. "

That's all you ever do. Think about it before you post next time. Out of everyone on this forum, you are the undisputed King of the Straw Man!

Great spin off from the GT, Michael!
Thanks for pointing it out in the GT. I'd have missed it. It was a good read. Pretty much points out the organizational ineptitude. But I'm sure we'll throw a party at the end of the year for having a five year run of about 54% and having the 9th best Farm System in the game. They'll probably make fucking banners to hang.
2 playoff appearances in 11 seasons during expanded playoffs and 11 teams with as good or better records with lower payroll and I am told that deserves a B+ grade for our hero Jerry....

This is what Calkins said (I know we are talking about this in several threads now):
One was a piece questioning whether players for the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team were really the victims of discrimination in their equal-pay lawsuit. Another was a more general column on cancel culture in sports. The last, written shortly after George Floyd’s death, implored people to listen to state-champion basketball coach Mike Bethea — a black man urging the public not to stereotype cops. The common theme? All of these challenged prevailing newsroom narratives and likely would have triggered the outrage mob.
