May the Rays win it all!
May the Rays win it all!
Absolutely my kind of team, they make the defense go crazy.
Exciting as hell, cause they’re totally unpredictable!
Like the game should be played.

I agree.
And they both have great managers.
I could never root for a team made up of guys who just swing for the fences, how boring.

Will Venerable has been having a good season managing the white sox. I'm reading now though about his Murakami Munetaka situation. Mune has totally collapsed but Venerable continues to hit him fourth.
Will Venable on Murakami Munetaka who struck out 4 more times tonight while batting cleanup: "It's not like moving him in the lineup is going to magically fix his swing...There's still a presence that he has. Evidence of that is there's a couple times we thought they would walk Vargas to get to Mune. That just speaks to the respect they have for Mune. He's still dangerous out there

So we are comparing a guy with a .804 OPS to a guy with a .354 OPS?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2026 8:41 pmWill Venerable has been having a good season managing the white sox. I wasn't comparing anybody I'm saying fans in Chicago apparently are getting anxious with mune in cleanup and only being a game ahead of ClevelandDonn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2026 8:41 pmWill Venerable has been having a good season managing the white sox. Since the start of August, he has recorded a measly .131 batting average, a .277 OBP, a .301 SLG and an inflated 41.8 percent strikeout rate. Across 14 games in September, he is hitting only .098 with a .436 OPS
Re: May the Rays win it all!
One of the amazing things about the Rays is that they really don’t make that many good trades.
They traded Lowe, Mangum and Montgomery to the Pirates, all solid contributors, and at least initially, got little in return.
Yeah, they don’t seem to miss a beat.

From what I observe, they appear to have a very good player development system.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2026 9:13 pmI believe the Rays are generally considered to make clever trades.
