I like Suzuki but think we need another right handed bat. I would see if we could deal for Acuna or either Lopez or Walls I would be static. I could handle Cazone and Arroyo at DH
lol so when you get you age you get static instead of ecstatic?? :)

Lopez is a possibility but Walls is Brendan Ryan and Acuna isn't getting traded....
One year of a Brendan Ryan-esque Taylor Walls would be a great fit.

The frugal Tampa Bay Rays might be looking to shed Walls' 2027 salary of $3.1 million and former top prospect Carson Williams might ready to take over shortstop for the Rays. Walls should not cost much in a trade even if the Rays include three years of defensively adept righthand-hitting outfielder Jonny DeLuca, who has a projected 2027 salary of $1.7 million.

The major league minimum is $780,000. That will probably go up under the new CBA.
Just saw Raley is expected to get $3M. He is as good as gone...

If I was any one on the team I'd be asking for a trade.

Sure if we are trying to score even fewer runs...

$17.5M into 2x relievers on top of Munoz/Dominguez making $20M doesn't seem like anything Dipoto would ever be in on.

Seiya is a fine add... but being 32... I don't see the M's paying that sort of $$ out given recent comments by Stanton.

yep negative infinity chance but Plans should be based on what we would do not what dumb fuck would be willing to do.

btw the reliever suggestions is NOTHING compared to your suggestion we resign Randy.

Better chance we sign Sydney Sweeney.

Not my plan lol.

Plan on the comments made by Hollander and Dipoto. I just based it around that.

I fully believe Hollander is full of shit.

I see that now. Seems like a waste of time in that case.

I take ownership of this plan - entirely. I put it together based on what I felt was achievable as well as what is simply desirable. Putting this much into relievers would, as you say, not be in keeping with what the M’s have done in the past. No arguments here.

But it is my belief that the M’s may start to break with convention. I’m not expecting them to start spending like the Dodgers, but I think that a businessman like Stanton has to be somewhat reflective about a product that has failed to completely. Improving the product would increase his profits, and this starts with investing more in the product itself.

Sure, it’s hopeful thinking. Right now, hope is all that I have. But the fact that they’ve let almost the entire coaching staff go tells me that they are willing to shake things up a little. I’m cautiously optimistic that they start doing things a little differently with the free agent market as well.

And I don’t think I’m that far off with the Suzuki proposal. At his age, he’s not gonna go for a one year prove it contract. He’s already proven it. He’s likely going to sign at least a three or four year contract, and some of the puns are speculating a five-year contract. Again, the Mariners might very well offer a four-year deal to a 32-year-old player. Lots of times teams that make these kinds of deals never wind up, keeping a player at the tail end of the contract. He would be a monster addition to our outfield, and the Mariners could then get creative with their infield.

I agree that they could start spending on relievers again.

1. They did it 2016-18 with Cishek, Nicasio and rzepczynski et al
2. The pitching lab has turned into the Wuhan lab.
3. Injuries and underperformance to/by our high leverage relievers
