I now laugh at my March 2026 self for wondering how this team could possibly regress. Now, I'm saying they better pick it up, as this is now a window. Pull out the stops and get another one, or it might be another long wait. And I'm old AF.
They could be just as talented and motivated as last season and go 11-6 (or worse) and one and done in the playoffs due to injuries, bad breaks, tougher schedule, etc . Everything just seemed to go right or fall into place for them last year.
exactly...

So i was reading about the Marvin Harrison jr. trade and it was brought up his issues getting open, his low separation rate. That he ranked last at 2.1 yards. This is your football analytical stuff. So it occurred to me to ask about Rasheed, yikes. Seems he does have separation issues. But JS still valued him enough to sign him again

Rasheed has worse stats than the worst guy in the league, interesting
During his time with the Cardinals, Harrison ranked last in the NFL among all wide receivers (with 50 targets or more over the past three years) in separation, averaging just 2.1 yards of separation when targeted, per NFL Next Gen Stats. Great receivers -- even ones who get plenty of attention from opposing defenses -- are typically able to create more space for themselves.

AI Overview

Rashid Shaheed has a career target separation rate of 1.67 yards, ranking him #40 among NFL wide receivers.
The Seattle Seahawks wide receiver and elite return specialist—who signed a three-year, $51 million contract extension with the team—primarily uses his explosive vertical speed to challenge defenses. While his top-end speed creates dynamic big-play opportunities, advanced metrics show he operates with average-to-tight separation on intermediate routes. The Seahawks' coaching staff continues to focus on expanding his route tree beyond deep vertical shots and screens to unlock more consistent space in coverage

Exactly this. The team is as talented as any other, but they also had all the breaks fall thier way - low turnovers, low injuries, ball bouncing our way on that 'controversial" (according to every lambs fan, all 7 of them) two point conversion, executing three 2 pointers in one game, Darnold balling out. Statistically it would be rare to have that many things fall your way again.

Funny enough, after further review, this game really was kind of funny, just a comedy of errors, that fumble in the endzone, I mean, what are the odds? All of it just a shit show - you have to be able to laugh at it sometimes and also realize we still had the win in our reach. After all that shitting the bed, the 9ers won, are the new 'media' darlings (which is utterly hilarious - and predictable), but it took a game played that poorly by Seattle for them to be able eke out a win. Maybe that is the takeaway. I am not even mad about this loss - it just is what it is. Funny, mostly. Even JSN had to drop a sure thing for SF to pull this off. Maybe Seattle isn't so bad.

Maybe that was Sam's last real preseason game. I dunno how to explain him because we've seen what he's capable of. Should expect some growing pains from Fleury, I suppose, let's be realistic. Let's see what happens in Denver - can this team respond. Really we are in 'keep it together until our RB room gets replenished" mode. There is nothing you can do about that - there is only so much depth a team can have - and pretending that if we kept walker all our problems would be solved is just incorrect.

There is a silver lining - the lambs lost a f'n hearbreaker - at home (so, no jet lag lol) - and McVey is melting down. Grabbing my popcorn!

go hawks...

I still don't get the logic of lining up Holani at the 3 yard line in a deep I-formation for that play at the end of the first half.
No kidding. It just screamed, 'Dumb'!

Side note: would have been interesting to see how the game ended had JSN made that catch. Dude catches so many balls, that one was just weird.

At least he is an elite returner. Oh wait, 15th in KO return average and 24th in punt return average but hey here is some great news!

He is by far #1 in far catches with 15! 6 more than the 2nd place guy with 9.

33rd highest paid WR who is ranked 138th in catches with 9 and also 138th with 96 yards. lol

This is what the NFL wants....parody. That is why they do the schedule this way. The Seahawks have a first place schedule, the Rams a second place schedule, the 49ers a 3rd place schedule. That has an impact. What's worse is the tough games the 49ers play? Aren't really ahead of them besides in division.

Pats had an easy schedule last year, first place schedule this season and started out slow. They trail the Bills in the standings. Bills play a 2nd place schedule.

Steelers play a first place schedule this year. Currently trail the Ravens who are playing a 2nd place schedule. The Browns are tied with the Steelers....and are playing a 4th place schedule.

Jags are leading the pathetic South and playing a 1st place schedule.

Chiefs lead the Broncos by a game and a half. Broncos playing a 1st place schedule and the Chiefs a 3rd place schedule. The fourth place schedule Raiders are currently tied for second, while the Chargers are winless with their 2nd place schedule.

The G Men lead the East. Playing a 4th place schedule. Cowboys and Eagles are under .500, playing a 2nd and 1st Place schedule respectively.

The undefeated Vikings are playing a 3rd place schedule. Maybe 3rd place. They tied with the Lions, so who knows who owned the tie breaker?

The South is pathetic, but again? Here we are in the West with only the Cardinals not being impacted by the 4th place schedule since they are still in 4th place.

You can't afford to play stupid football and lose winnable games when you are playing a tougher schedule. Losing to the 49ers stings, but shitting the bed against Washington is inexcusable. Darnold should be on notice. I promise you he is not, but he has cost us two winnable games by playing bad football and putting a fantastic defense in terrible positions. Fleury as well. They both should be incredibly apologetic to their team right now. The Running Backs suck. But?

Emanuel Wilson is an American professional football running back for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League. He played college football for the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls and Fort Valley State Wildcats, and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Denver Broncos in 2023

George Holani signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2024.[15] He was waived on August 27, and re-signed to the practice squad.[16][17] On December 26, Holani was signed to the active roster after Kenneth Walker III was placed on injured reserve.[18] As a rookie, he appeared in five games, mainly contributing on special teams.

THAT is what we expect to carry us on the ground? Darnold is making the big bucks to not fuck up. He's not earning the money right now, flat out, end of story.

Brian Fleury began his coaching career in 2003 as a graduate assistant and intern at Maryland.[1] After two years in the position, Fleury became secondary coach for the Sacred Heart Pioneers in 2005 and then served from 2006 to 2008 as their defensive coordinator, secondary coach and outside linebackers coach.[5] He returned to Towson in 2009 and served four years as special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach.[6]

Buffalo Bills
In 2013, Fleury was hired by the Buffalo Bills as an offensive quality control coach.[7]

Cleveland Browns
In 2014, Fleury was hired by the Cleveland Browns as their assistant linebackers coach and then he was promoted to outside linebackers coach in 2015.[7]

Miami Dolphins
In 2016, Fleury was hired by the Miami Dolphins, spending a year as a football analyst before being their director of football research from 2017 to 2018.[8]

San Francisco 49ers
In 2019, Fleury was hired by the San Francisco 49ers as a defensive quality control coach under head coach Kyle Shanahan. In 2020, he shifted to being an offensive quality control coach.[9] He helped the team reach the Super Bowl (Super Bowl LIV) in the 2019–2020 season against the Kansas City Chiefs.[1]

In 2022, Fleury was promoted to tight ends coach, coaching All-Pro George Kittle.[4][10] He was among the offensive coordinator candidates for the New England Patriots in 2024.

I highlighted Fleury's offensive pedigree. Fantastic.

This is a mess. Stop making fucking mistakes. You have an overmatched play caller calling plays for a mistake prone QB and two undrafted RBs. And yet Price was the one doghoused? I know he got hurt, but Jesus. This has the signs of getting worse before it gets better. Kubiak and JSN might have covered up a ton of warts last year.

LOL Yeah Jeff, I HATE him because I had the audacity to post his stats and rankings.    I don't even fucking know him. I don't hate him. I hate the signing and his production.

If you want to have a love affair with the 138th ranked WR in the NFL and the guy that has about double the fair catches as the average punt returner then go for it..
