Incredible Comeback
Incredible Comeback
not sure if there are many fans left after the Iowa beatdown and home loss to the Gophers, so most probably missed a remarkable leap off the mat at the eight or nine count, but if you get the chance at least look up the highlights. Converted the most improbable 4th and 18 sideline catch with 2 minutes left after the offense had been dormant all night, followed by the go-ahead TD one play later in which Demond perfectly read the blitz and delivered a strike to Lawson who did his best JSN impression taking it to the house. All after the Brown-led offense had been stifled for the first 50 minutes. There's also a game clinching pick six and one of the most vicious bone-crunching hits you'll see by Alex McLaughlin, who has to be up there for 1st team All American. The second straight Big10 road win puts this team not that far off where they should have been expected to be now at 6-3, albeit you would have like to have seen a better showing vs. Iowa and Minnesota at home. That Gophers loss is looking a little better today with their near upset of Indiana.

Saw the end. Anyone else hear the heartbreak in the announcers voice when Nebraska didn’t recover the onside kick? Pretty shitty if you ask me.
Re: Incredible Comeback
they nearly did recover it, never seen a better onside kick execution on the kicker's part. that was Lawson's second best catch of the day, bettered only by the miracle sideline conversion.Michael K. wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2026 3:14 pmSaw the end. Before that last two minutes, watching that game was like having to choose between 7-11 hotdogs and gas station sushi. Just. fucking. awful.
Re: Incredible Comeback
not true if you actually like watching decent defense. The secondary was terrific, the D Line did a great job staying disciplined in their rush to not allow that fast QB many running lanes, and after some early issues the front 7 made the adjustments to stop the running game, keeping them in it against a quality opponent on the road who had already taken down Oregon and nearly did the same to Indiana. Not flashy, but gritty - something we haven't seen nearly a lot of in the Fisch era. Now all the false starts on offense - that we have seen!!
Re: Incredible Comeback
I didn't come away thinking Nebraska was anything special. They haven't been in years. Washington's QB just flat out sucks. The three yard pass on third and six - with NO shot of converting - in the 4th quarter - sums him up perfectly to me. He leaves a lot of yards out there. Didn't they have a back up that was doing well?57reasons wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2026 5:24 amnot true if you actually like watching decent defense. Re: Incredible Comeback
That 4th-and-18 catch by Lawson was just off the hook. I don't know if the Huskies have ever stunned a road crowd like they did the Huskers. Those fans were about as loud as I've ever heard opposing fans and all of a sudden the needle came off the phonograph VRRRRRRP and in barely more than an instant they were shuffling toward the exits like The Walking Dead. Even the Whammy In Miami didn't stun the opposing crowd like what happened Saturday.
I guess the Elijah Brown Era is over.
