Breaking News: Kanzler will be the new manager
Re: Breaking News: Kanzler will be the new manager
Clearly, the organization sees the Seattle fans as suckers.
Re: Breaking News: Kanzler will be the new manager
At this point they are.
Unbelievable they kept Dipoto. They deserve all the losing that comes their way. This team doesn't even deserve fans anymore. They've proven how stupid they are.

What does this really mean?seattlefan-daBronx wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2026 10:46 pmAnother fucking Yesman for Jerry. I don't even know the guy and my blood is boiling.
Management just cannot get out of their own way. We the fans suffer for it.
Jerry says, "tell the boys we want soft pop ups and weak grounders... make sure nobody hits the ball hard"..... "let's have the pitchers get behind in counts and then groove fastballs over the middle"
This is a self-incentivized game. Yeah, there's some concept of playing your role and teamwork. Try to get on base for the guys behind you instead of just trying for a solo homer. Stuff like that. But, I mean pretty much every player is incentivized to put up good numbers. That's how they get paid.
So curious to everyone who is posting puppeteer memes... what does Yesman mean? He has to use the batting order that Jerry wants? This is getting comical to me. Are we talking who closes out games? What exactly does the "experienced manager that doesn't have to bow down to Jerry" change? There is really nothing more than the lineup card and making substitutions. It's already been said in this thread, but it's not like he's out their calling a running play instead of a passing play. Are we talking about the bunt when you're home team in extras and the game is tied? "I wanted to bunt him over but Jerry said swing away"? Yesman... blood is boiling... good grief.... Dan Wilson was one game away from the World Series. AJ Hinch finished 10 games under .500 last year. And, we're talking about a manager being handcuffed by the GM?!?!?!
The real part comes next. Are they gonna sign some FAs? Who is available? Trades?
Naylor's wrist is gonna heal up nice an he's gonna go off for .900 OPS next year, and everyone is gonna credit the manager.
Re: Breaking News: Kanzler will be the new manager
I'm optimistic about the Kanzler hire. I don't think he was hired simply to do DiPoto's bidding. I'm hopeful that a younger guy with a background in teaching can relate well to the players. I like that he was a hitting coach himself and that the guy they hired as the hitting coach, C.J. Gilman, is both a friend of Kanzler and has a background in the organization with many of the players.

Well, Seattle fans might be tired of this shit. I know I am. How do you watch what has happened with the Super Bowl Champions and their offense when you hired someone with ZERO fucking experience and think. Yep, that looks good? They have to be simply planning on a lock out, right?

I guess you can't tag guys out from the OF per our new Manager:

Do you believe if they had fired Wilson at the All Star Break or so we'd have won the Division? Because I do....so I have to believe hiring a child who's never done this before is a mistake.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2026 8:23 pmI just don't get why people would make a big deal about this. Baseball managers aren't like football or basketball coaches. They don't install innovative offenses or defenses. They don't give rah-rah speeches that make the team go out and steamroll the other team. All they really have to do is have a good relationship with the players, not screw up the lineup and not screw up pitching changes. Really, the best manager in baseball would have made the Mariners what, 3-5 games better in 2026?
I'm neither thrilled nor bummed about Kanzler, although if he doesn't do the dumb things Dan Wilson did we'll all be happy with that. But we need players, this is a distraction from that more than anything.

Re: Breaking News: Kanzler will be the new manager
Of course he is handcuffed by this GM. No one debates that Jerry and Hollander make all the decisions. The problem is? We need someone to push back on that, because Jerry's way has resulted in us being out more than in when it comes to the playoffs. Keep defending it all you want, but you can't argue that. So hiring another yes man is fucked up. BUT? It is EXACTLY what I expected.DanielVogelbach wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2026 1:16 amWhat does this really mean?seattlefan-daBronx wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2026 10:46 pmAnother fucking Yesman for Jerry. Re: Breaking News: Kanzler will be the new manager
I personally believe that Jerry is setting the lineup daily. All the platoon garbage is a directive straight from him. I also believe he is micromanaging The pitching staff and literally telling the manager which pitchers he can use on a given day. I absolutely guarantee you that the whole 6 man rotation came directly from him. To me a Yes man is someone who is going to let Jerry continue to meddle in the on field decision making without giving any push back. That is exactly what they got. Someone with no track record to give him clout in the decision making process. They didn't even let the dude pick his own assistant coaches. Jerry is the puppet master Kanzler is a yes man and anyone who doesn't see that is obtuse.DanielVogelbach wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2026 1:16 amWhat does this really mean?seattlefan-daBronx wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2026 10:46 pmAnother fucking Yesman for Jerry. Re: Breaking News: Kanzler will be the new manager
I don't think that would have happened. Maybe we would have won another game or two that Wilson made bad decisions in (and remember, the opposite decision is not a guarantee, just makes your chances a little better). I mean, what was a new manager going to do, yell at Cal and Julio and make them hit better? Come up with a new pitch for Munoz, Bazardo and Ferrer to use? Baseball managers can make a little bit of a difference but they can't do what someone like Mike McDonald does.Michael K. wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2026 7:37 pmDo you believe if they had fired Wilson at the All Star Break or so we'd have won the Division?
