Wait until winter. Seriously. Walking the Back Bay Area and into downtown on (if you can manage it) a quiet, snowy Sunday, for an early dinner at the Union Oyster House can be memorable (if you’re not freezing your collective asses off).
Boston remains one of my favorite walking cities. I miss it.

My fear is that you're right about us taking a player who is close to the majors ready. I LOVE Zac Veen and if I had to choose from Hancock, Gonzales and Veen, I'd go Veen. Now if Gonzales and Hancock are off the board by 5, I'm afraid that Seattle may love Detmers too much and go with him over Veen. I'm not high on Detmers pitch velocity, although he's probably the closest thing and safest to a major league ready team. I'd go Max Meyer before Detmers, who if Meyer was 2 inches taller might go #1 overall with a 70 fastball and 70 slider. Either way, its heating up.
Yeah, Sodo is just gonna make a post about every possible scenario. I haven't seen one yet do a post on Patrick Bailey except me. Like I said, he's still my dark horse candidate.

MLB just put up an awesome article on Bailey today. I'll have mine later this morning.

Talk of Tigers cutting a deal with Zac Veen. I've heard the same thing with Baltimore. The same head scout who's running the Orioles Draft room was the same man who cut a deal with Carlos Correa to take him 1st overall.D-train wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 10:40 pmOk. That'd probably look like
Detroit - Veen
Baltimore - Torkelson
Miami - Martin
Kansas City - Gonzales
Toronto - Lacey
Seattle - Hancock

Ok teams cut deals......so the question becomes who are the top players chosen after the 1st round that teams are looking to pay over slot value? And how does this affect the M's?Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 5:35 amTalk of Tigers cutting a deal with Zac Veen. I've heard the same thing with Baltimore. Re: Comprehensive look at who every mock draft has us taking
Well considering that the M's just cut so many minor leaguers I'd be willing to wager that they are just waiting to sign as many names as they can get their hands on. As far as who those names might be, you're guess is as good as mine. I have a really good feeling about who our 1ST Rd pick will be though. I'm hoping Jordan Westburg or Jordan Walker are both there when we pick in the 2nd. Both play Third Base.Bil522 wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 9:06 amOk teams cut deals......so the question becomes who are the top players chosen after the 1st round that teams are looking to pay over slot value? Can't believe the names of players has been released yet. Has to be today, right?Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 9:07 amWell considering that the M's just cut so many minor leaguers I'd be willing to wager that they are just waiting to sign as many names as they can get their hands on.
