How many deaths from the flu this year?
The final data on flu season 2020 has been reported by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), even as the coronavirus continues to spread throughout major regions of the United States.

Between October 1, 2019 and April 4, 2020, there have been 39 million - 56 million flu illnesses, 410,000 - 740,000 hospitalizations, and 24,000 - 62,000 deaths from flu, of which 169 are pediatric, according to the CDC.

Using the handful of studies that have calculated infection-fatality rates for seasonal flu, Meyerowitz-Katz determined that somewhere between 1 and 10 people die for every 100,000 that are infected. For COVID-19, that number ranges between 500 and 1,000 deaths per 100,000 infections. By his calculations, the coronavirus is likely to be 50 to 100 times more deadly than the seasonal flu, which supports the Columbia University findings.

So is the conventional flu 40-50 times more contagious or is the thinking that if nothing was done to control the spread, there would be 50 million with Covid?

No I am just wondering why 50 million get the flu and 2.8 million have gotten Covid. Either the flu is more contagious or the anti spread measures have worked pretty well.

The CDC's estimate for Covid19 death rate as of a week ago was in the .2% to .3% range. There have been past flu strains near that level i believe.

Also the median age of those who have supposedly died from Covid19 is near 80 and most of them had other chronic conditions that contributed to their deaths.

Dr. Atlas used Texas of an example saying, “90+% of ICU beds are occupied, but only 15% are COVID patients. 85% of the occupied beds are not COVID patients.
How many of the 15% are repatriated Retired Americans getting back home from living in Mexico and wanting to get health care here

So now the Yankee hair policy is racist. I guess only minorities can grow long hair and beards so no impact on white guys. I am referring to white woman's tweet not the story.
