Also, around 3 million Sub-Saharan Africans have immigrated to America in the past 50 years. That is roughly 8 times the number that were brought here as slaves, and millions more have undoubtedly applied for immigrant status and were turned down. If this is a systemically racist and oppressive nation why did they want to come here?

Agreed. All of those who were involved are dead and gone and it's our world now. There's nothing to make up for and the only thing we need to do is not repeat the wrongs that they did. I don't want to pay squat for something that some guy with a goofy wig named Ichabod did in the 1700s. If Americans have to make reparations than so does pretty much the entire world, including Africans whose ancestors enslaved each other. See how ridiculous that sounds?

Reminds me of a documentary I saw about ten or so years ago where they took some World War 2 sailors from the US and Japan out into the Pacific to look for sunken naval vessels. The sailors befriended each other and as they were all sitting there they were asked what message they would like to pass on to people today. One US veteran immediately replied, "Don't do this". Everyone else nodded and that was it. No revenge. No reparations. No dwelling on it even though it was the worst thing humanity ever did. Just don't forget and don't repeat it.

Reparations are for more than slavery. And the oppression of Black Americans is still prevalent today.

The immigrants that came to this country all benefitted from the unpaid labor and discrimination of Blacks. from the Slave trade and Jim Crow afterwards. They are equally complicit.
