South Pacific, by far my favorite Roger's and Hammerstein film, hands down!ddraig wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 3:45 am
Thanks, AT. You are one of the few that has seen me act. It was a lot of fun. The character in South Pacific that I played was Captain Brackett and was based on Russ Brown's version. Had a lot of old WWII guys come up to me after the play and tell me I acted exactly like their commanding officer! Pretty cool!
Russ Brown did two musicals in 1958. South Pacific and one and the other was Damn Yankees. A lot of the guys at the Auburn Dinner Theater wanted to do that play, but we never had the chance. Watch this and you'll understand why.

And this sounds eerily similar to a team we all know and love:
"The 1958 Washington Senators won 61 games, lost 93, and finished in eighth place in the American League, 31 games behind the New York Yankees."

All the Senators needed was a star to make everyone else better... Keep drafting those high school position players and the pitchers will come.
