Not with a 10' pole, age and AAV to much for a player with half his stats from Coors and Yankees stadium. Get us someone in his 20's even if cost more. 4 with AAV of 25 mill or 4 with 4 with AAV of 32 mill. Less risk in my mind

Curious what the Yankees could offer in a trade to get Lindor.

Seems like it starts with Clint Frazier who the Indians traded away...

If I'm the Indians, I'm asking for the moon. You don't gift stars to the teams that don't care about money.

Clint Frazier, Clarke Schmidt, Estevan Florial for Lindor

Or they can fuck off if I'm the GM of Cleveland.

Is that better than your M's package? I don't know the second two guys you mentioned above.

Also curious what they're payroll is gonna look like if they sign Lindor to a mega deal post trade.

Lindor is likely $25-$30 million every year going forward.

Garrett Cole is making $36 million a year.

Stanton is making $29 million a year.

Chapman is making $18 million in 2022.

2021 Judge is due to make around $20 million in arb then he'll surely be seeking a massive contract of his own.

2021 Sanchez is due to make around $15 million in arb then he'll surely be seeking a massive contract of his own.

Torres is already at nearly $3 million is his first arb year. Means he'll likely be around $15 million by 2022.

Luke Voit already at $6 million in his first year of arb... that's going to balloon if he continues to perform.

Aaron Hicks making $10 million annually.

Luis Severina is making $10-15 million until 2023.

Zack Britton is making $13-14 million until 2023.

Just a guess... but by 2022 the Yankees could have $220 million tied up in just 11 players.

Real fair.

Edit: I would say their offer is better considering Frazier... but then again, they'd be getting more young, controllable pieces from us.

Frazier had a .905 OPS in 39 games for the Yankees last season.

Schmidt is their no. 2 overall prospect and a top 80 prospect in baseball.

Florial was a top 100 prospect... is no longer.

Thanks. Yes, that would be quite haul for one season. JD isn't going to give up anyone in our top ten this off season imo.

I agree, I don't think the cost to acquire Lindor will be outrageous given his salary. They're still paying market price and have to give up prospects to acquire him, in my opinion means that the cost won't be ridiculous.

However, the acquiring team will also almost assuredly make a qualifying offer at the end of the season so a comp pick value would be factored in.

In other words, the Indians are guaranteed a comp pick in the draft if they kept Lindor, they'll ask at least that much+ just as a starting point because the acquiring team gets Lindor + a bonus high draft pick.

DJ has benefitted from hitting in Colorado and New York.

His career numbers are pretty brutal away from the hitters home parks. Sub-.700 OPS for his career in AWAY games.

He's a guy I'd be wary of huge production dropoffs if he doesn't have a friendly home field.
Once again, you are full of crap. look at his Yankees Away numbers from 2019-2020

2019: .318ba .359obp .459slug .818ops

2020: .306ba .361obp .398slug .759ops

He doesn't need a home park to hit and at 32 he teaches our guys how to win because he is a leader and winner....something the Mariners are currently lacking.
