Post Mortem: 2021 Playoffs - Seahawks v Lambs
Re: Post Mortem: 2021 Playoffs - Seahawks v Lambs
So, Pete wants to go back to his "we need to run the ball more montra" How about pass quicker and run? Same coaches, same model, same production. How has that worked in the playoffs over the last 5 years? While all of the other top teams make adjustments, we want to go back to the same model. Nice
Keep doing the same thing with Norton and Shotty. Working absolutely stellar in the playoffs.

Which ended up costing the offense 40-45 seconds because we were out of time outs. I'm surprised Buck and Aikman didn't call Carroll a buffoon, that had to take some serious restraint. Collinsworth would have unloaded.

I'm curious how people are looking towards next season. Maybe it's too early to tell yet. My NFL appetite has gone from 100 to about 10 over the last few seasons, not sure how much I will care about watching the NFL/Seahawks at all next season. I know I'm tired of the same movie every week from the Seahawks - literally the same fucking plot points every week - I just have no appetite left. It's like an endless cycle of reruns, and not the good episodes either. Anyone else's interest in the NFL waning? Anyone tired of the same show every week from the Seahawks? Maybe I'll just 'peacefully protest' by not watching anymore.
Protests. That was bad. Commentators openly placating the left. Ugh, really bad look.
The Washington Football Team.
Over legislation and silly new rules. Probably time to move the extra point back again. Maybe do the kick offs blindfolded.
Poor officiating and 'emphasis' penalties designed to influence the game intentionally.
Injuries - nothing can be done about that.
The NFL is the WWE. It's all show, entertainment, marketing, and a little bit of football mixed in.
After writing that and rereading it - not sure I have much appetite for any of that.

After 18 weeks of football - yeah, probably time for a break. But I imagine by summer, we'll all be ready for Hawks football again.auroraave wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 5:20 pmI'm curious how people are looking towards next season. They probably won't be able to re-sign most of the following players so i think it could be a fairly dismal season next year.
Carson
Ford
Wright
Mayowa
Hyde
Dunbar
Pocic
Griffin
Simmons
Mone
Bellore
Jackson
If they can't bring Carson back and still go ahead with the plan to run more it could be really dismal.

give a break with the up-tempo crap. What i saw was lousy preparation and poor execution. That team couldn't run the offense they had effectively, you think they could run an up-tempo one?

Yes. Have you never watched a Seahawks playoff game? Carolina? Green Bay? Are you seriously going to say you have never watched this team go three and out all first half while looking absolutely lifeless, then run tempo and start lighting up the scoreboard? Come on man.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 3:24 amgive a break with the up-tempo crap. What i saw was lousy preparation and poor execution. How many times did we witness the LOB defense get stressed by uptempo offenses? Seems to me, if the best of the best can struggle with a specific strategy, you might want to implement that same strategy for your own offense when they are in similar situations - the evidence of it's success is glaringly obvious from your own game films. Not sure how much more obvious it can be. Again, plodding along offensively gives the defense the advantage.Michael K. wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 4:21 pmYes. For what ever reason, Pete isn’t comfortable with that style. Looks like we better get used to a more plodding system. He has said he isn’t afraid to win 17 to 14. The problem is he doesn’t have the defense to win that way anymore, not against good teams. He played exactly that style in the last game of the season last year. Hell, our defense couldn’t hold up against the Rame, who played one QB without a thumb and the other making his second start. They weren’t going to beat us passing, but with a rookie RB marched up and down the field.
He knows the team he wants to coach...he just doesn’t know the team he has. Should we have run the ball more? I think so, but if what he has in mind is winning 17 to 14? Get ready for seven and eight win seasons.
