Sheffield with 8.0 ip, 8K. 2BB 1 ER. 2 H (both came in the 8th inning). No decision as the game tied 1-1 in the 9th.
I know a lot are down on him, but he's showing pretty dang good in AA the last 3 starts. Hopefully he can carry that back to AAA when they decide to promote him back to Tacoma.
Night and Day. I like day better. Can't just be the level of competition. Great to see he has snapped out of it. Literally every prospect is doing well right now. Just need to dump Gordon, Leake and Seager and the rebuild will be at all systems go.
I don't understand this mentality. All of those players in all likelihood bring back nothing of value. I mean if Seattle pays huge money you could buy a Juan Then type depth piece but that is not really exciting me. Dumping Seager, I think Healy is done. Who's on 3rd? Short term I would be fine with Shed or Tim Beckham but Beckham in 2020 will be in his last year of control and has slumped after the hot start. If you dump Dee (I like Shed as a 2B more than 3rd baseman) Shed can't play both. Dumping Seager will probably cost 10M+ and you have a hole that you do not have any high-grade prospects to turn to.
Kyle is on a 3 WAR pace BWAR 31 games =.6 WAR = 3 WAR in 155.
I would rather pay 38 Million for 2 years and option to trade him if he has an up year than pay (.5 x 53 million = 26.5 M) to trade him and have a spot for Dylan Moore or less.
The baseball market has tanked with tanking. 3 years ago EE would have brought back a legit org. top 10 prospect.
Dee is more of a piece that is blocking Shed.
