He tweeted this:
Where have you gone, Theo Epstein?
Mariner nation turns its lonely eyes to you

And making generalizations like that make you no better than them.IStillLoveTheMs wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 7:30 amHow old, rich, white people talk to other old, rich, white people behind closed doors...
I mean I'm not shocked an old white dude with that kind of money has those attitudes about non-native speakers.
Well it was the morning but I guess he could have been hung over or had whiskey in his coffee cup.Hasslecracked wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 12:57 pmIt's really hard for me to wrap my head around this. The guy managed to offend and disrespect our longest tenured player, our top 2 prospects, his own employees, former Mariners greats (Ichiro and Edgar) and all international talents. Oh, and any free agent who was interested in coming here. Was he hammered drunk or something? I mean, this guy can't be this dumb, right? Before this came out I was thinking we were approaching a possible golden era of Mariners baseball. Why would any top prospect or major free agent want to play here under this dipshit's guidance from here on out? And to see people defend this garbage. No wonder the Mariners havnt been worth a shit in 20 years.
Reminds me of when I worked for the Federal Home Loan Bank and I can't remember the specifics but the CFO of WA Federal Savings and Loan had taken out a credit line which had prepayment restrictions. He was probably paying like $50 a day on a $5M loan. He must have called me 5 times trying to get the prepayment restriction waved so he could pay off the loan a month early. They were like a $10 billion S&LDonn Beach wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 1:00 pmyeah, he had no business sharing any of that with the public, that is what the owners would be wondering about. He is an accountant running a baseball team. I am assuming that is why he put in that position. He was remarkably honest about it, how totally bottom line the organization is focused, as well as again showing a total lack of consideration with how to deal with employees. It really was an amazing presentation...
One can hope but the fact that he was on the phone most of the day calling the 57 people he offended might mean they are going to try to keep him.Hasslecracked wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 1:28 pmThere's rumors the Mariners are planning on making a statement this morning. Hopefully Mather gets fired
They can ignore the how they run the business comments and focus on the negative comments about players.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 1:32 pmwhy should he be fired, how can they really disown what he had to say? He opened a window to how the Mariners run their franchise, it was kind of refreshing really. Could you imagine him saying any of that to reporters?
He should be fired for disrespecting JRod and Kelenic for one. Neither of those guys are probably thinking about us long term anymoreDonn Beach wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 1:32 pmwhy should he be fired, how can they really disown what he had to say?
