why should he be fired, how can they really disown what he had to say? He opened a window to how the Mariners run their franchise, it was kind of refreshing really. Could you imagine him saying any of that to reporters?

He should be fired for disrespecting JRod and Kelenic for one. Neither of those guys are probably thinking about us long term anymore

How did he disrespect Kelenic. And while his comments about Julio were poor taste, and contract unnecessary, they weren't horrible. Of course his language isn't tremendous, he just stayed learning it about a year ago. But for his age and experience, it's relatively really good. He should have focused on that rather than pointing out that a 19 year old who is learning English as a second language isn't perfect.

After listening to it again and hearing KM say they could have gone to Spokane with a team just is really upsetting, His condescending attitude to those of us on the east side even flippantly giving us the finger with his snub. After a sleepless night fretting over the hypocrisy of his rudeness, race baiting arrowgance I see no future as a Mariner fan if he isn’t fired immediately and all remaining executive need sensitivity retraining immediately. The long term damage to the players and fans may never be fixed given the obvious ignorance displayed.

I have to agree. If they stand by him, I may look for a different team to root for. 3 years of a solid rebuild and Mather tried to sink it in 45 minutes.

Sadly, this is a very well summarized thought. So disappointed that douchebags like this are running my organization. And even worse, that there are others that will continue to allow him to do so.

It wasn't disrespectful. He said he bet on himself, and theres a good chance he earns more because of it. I don't see anything off-putting or offensive about that.

There were some things he said that were definitely stupid. I think that some is way overblown though, and I think it culture has become one that likes for offense in everything. I havent seen the whole thing, but have read the transcripts about some of it, so If have to dive deeper to have a better sense of all of it, but I do think there is some overreaction to some of the comments.

He also said we had a better chance of seeing Mathers own fatass in LF instead of Kelenic cause of the time thing. Think Kris Bryant vs the Cubs but on a way larger scale and out in the open public

To me it came across as "We offered them more security for potentially less money in the long run. Some are going to take it, some aren't. Some we will come out ahead, others we'll lose out and the players will have guaranteed money where otherwise they wouldn't. Kelenic choose to bet on himself." That's basically what anyone with a brain already knew was happening. Only thing he said was that the players union was l pushing back against it.
