I mean, I really don't want to waste the #3 pick that we had with Zuniga. If Fraley can turn into ANYTHING for us to be flipped or a part of this team that would be tremendous!Juliooooo wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 10:27 pmI'm with you on this one.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 10:21 pmYou've got so many prospects to look at. And your window of contention isn't until next year. I think this was the right call brother.

Its not the year to contend and never was going to be. This was always the plan from the very beginning. This another of evaluation whether we like it or not. We have to establish a firm core on which to build upon and I've been banging the drum for so long about.bpj wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 8:51 pmThey certainly gave Mallex enough time to make that trade worthwhile, might as well give Fraley a chance to make up for how terrible Mallex was..
Maybe he can get the net trade value from in the negatives to 0 at least.
Might as well see Fraley and Marmolejos for 30 games or so since they didn't sign anybody that deserves an everyday spot, we can see if Kelenic looks like he'll be an improvement over them at that point. I hope he excels in AAA and forces the issue quickly, but we'll see.

I think last year had a lot to do with this year's Spring Training games. While I'm not opposed to 7 inning exhibition games, I am 110% opposed to 7 inning double headers in a pro MLB setting.D-train wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 9:16 pmDude on twitter arguing with me thinking I am crazy for expecting them to play full baseball games instead of 5 or 7 innings and not even require 3 outs in an inning. 37 pitchers in camp. He says not all 37 are available for every game.I guess I am old enough to remember when you needed significantly less than 37 pitchers to get through a game.

I'll be looking for you. I'll be staying with my wife and her gf's from college.Juliooooo wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 9:32 pmYou go to Spring training to be in Arizona in March, and see some baseball. If the game goes 8 innings or 9 it shouldn't be the deal breaker for whether its worth it or not.
I'll be there next year, and I'll be lucky if I get to stay 9 innings to any game with my kids LOL.

Re: Sunday Game thread
I still don't understand why the Padres' half of the first inning was ended before the Mariners got the third out. Could someone explain that?
Re: Sunday Game thread
The initial plan was to be "competitive" mid 2020 and compete in 2021. Everyone thought that was crazy though an Covid made it even crazier.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Mon Mar 01, 2021 10:18 amIts not the year to contend and never was going to be.
