Good point, there's a lot of complaining, and not just here at the forum, it doesn't seem to be considered a very good start but that does seem to be the batting average trap. He's also running a 163 ops+. Okay, no more flipping shit at jrod
Last season he had a nice BA but few HRs and almost no doubles. This season only a .235 BA but he is hitting for power. This version is obviously better. If he gets 2+ more hits tonight it will be a great start.

Speaking of spring training, this is a Quora post, I agree with it. I hadn't thought in terms of players having off season jobs. Players these days are focused on baseball the entire year. Spring training is an anachronism, it survives because the clubs make money off of it
Spring Training itself needs to go away. It’s a holdover from back when most baseball players had off-season jobs as insurance salesmen or bartenders. Teams needed a month to get them back in shape. Now that no baseball players need an off-season job, they stay in shape on their own. Two weeks is more than enough now to familiarize players with their teammates and go through pick-off drills and stuff. Also, spring training games are a total waste.

Two weeks of drills and a couple of exhibition games are more than enough for today’s baseball players.
I was in great shape in my 20s while working a full time job and so are a lot of people so...I can see it in terms of not having access to baseball facilities though.
I'm picturing Julio showing up at spring training in his dirty coal miner's uniform carrying a sea bag.
