Sorry, I just hate suggesting trading guys with no idea of who or even what we are trading him for. Typically when you sell a good MLB player it is for prospects. Is that what you are suggesting??? If not what MLB player are we trading him for?? What team are we trading him to???

And please don't say we are trading him for a big bat. lol
I'm predicting, not suggesting. It's too soon to have an idea what they might trade him for.
Why on earth would they trade him?

He's an elite pitcher showing 0 signs of slowing down.

Should be doing everything in their power to extend him.
Maybe they won't. But if they have a logjam on the roster they'll have to make a decision about somebody, likely two somebodies, and if George won't extend I think they could be inclined to sell high. Of course, the new CBA could change the decision process significantly, as could something like a wave of injuries such that your SP surplus stops being a problem.

Oh, I guess I should have read the posts.

Why tf would anyone want to trade Kirby?

I thought u guys were talking Gilbert.

My God check the FA 3Bs for this coming off season. Hopefully Donovan stops being so damn brittle.
Third Base: Bo Bichette (opt-out), Eugenio Suárez, Alec Bohm, Anthony Rendon, Edmundo Sosa, Yoán Moncada, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Ramón Urías (mutual option)
That's my thought process.

Westburg is compelling because the 3B market is so bad, he's been solid when healthy, young, etc... I'd move Donovan to more of a McLemore role for the M's... have him rotate around the diamond.

I'd do a Gilbert for Westburg trade straight up. Baltimore's pitching staff is utter trash. Their top pitching prospect has an ERA near 5.50 the last 2 years across AA and AAA and they've only got 2 in their top 10.
Westburg is 27 has not played close to a full season, has a meh 116 OPS+. You can't trade Gilbert who was one of the best SPs in baseball in 2024 based on an injury riddled 2025 and one bad month this season for that Guy. There isn't enough playing time for Donovan to be a Super UT. He needs to play almost every day. I guess you can just have him replace Randy in LF and then give Emerson and Cole a day or two off a month at SS and 2B.

I would dump Castillo for whatever and put Miller in the Pen throwing almost 100 mph and bring up Anderson.

Woo
Kirby
Gilbert
Anderson
Hancock

Munoz
Brash
Miller
Speier
Bazardo
Ferrer
Vargas
Criswell

Lights out Pen and Rotation for 2027.

Leo Rivas is starting at 3B. And has done so half the games thus far. As M's fans, I think we've learned by now that you can never have enough solid position players. Pretty much every season they've had to roll with a Justin Upton, Jose Marmalejos, Donny Walton, Jake Bauers, Jake Lamb... you name it. Westburg is a 3-war over 162 3B with years of control. Hasn't been healthy, sure. But lets not scoff at a 116 OPS+ like that's bad.

I'm not saying you trade Gilbert now. But if he keeps showing he doesn't have it, they're going to have to make a decision. He was a completely different pitcher in 2024 than he is now.

I would move Gilbert for a high leverage arm in all honesty. What kind of a bat are you gonna get for him.
