Is the Marine layer to blame here as well?? lolMichael K. wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 4:16 pmYeah, I imagine around Thanksgiving was when KDB realized that despite the fact that he had beaten Lanning twice in two years? He was getting his ass handed to him on the recruiting trail. I am still dumbfounded when we struggle recruiting after success. Seems that we didn't exactly hit it out of the park after the Final 4 with CP either, or am I misremembering? Seems there was a lot of handwringing in here about OKGs, etc. Maybe it is just harder than we think to get kids to come here, but besides Nike, what is the draw to Oregon? All the uniforms?

Such bullshit. Everyone says that the SEC is the greatest, so they enter the pre season ranked that way, and every loss is a good one. Then? When they look shitty in Bowl games, like the Big Ten as well? They get to blame a lack of interest and opt outs.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 6:23 amDon't forget Mercer. I firmly believe Oregon would have finished second in the Big 10 and the SEC this year. Bama only beat Georgia because Kirby Smart has no idea how to beat his mentor. One win in his career against him. The entire SEC is breathing a sigh or relief right now. Go on buying the bullshit, I don’t believe that Missouri and Tennessee are any better than Oregon State or USC, and really don’t think they were better than AZ, Oregon or UW.
It is only a tough schedule because ESPN makes wads of cash pretending like the SEC is fierce top to bottom. I think top to bottom the PAC was the best last year. Didn’t Wisconsin make a Bowl game this year? They got shallowed by WSU. I just don’t buy into it. ESPN needs the Big 10 and SEC to be the greatest, so they push that narrative.
I’d really like to know how much of a distraction the week of the NC game was KDB and his looming decision, that he seems to have already made? Still, it wasn’t play design that forced Penix into innacuracy. Maybe they didn’t plan well enough on how to protect him, but it seemed more that we lost because we got beaten upfront than anything missed in the game plan.

I’d say since he isn’t on staff with his father, it might be a good bet that their views on offensive football might not be the same. I’m good with that.

I'll bet it's because if you really want to advance in a field it helps getting out from under the wing of your father
