Kirby had a decent performance last night albeit limited to two innings.

It's a shame because Santana/Vogelbach/Haniger is a nice MOTO.

35 homerun players dont grow on trees, I hope they can extend him instead of continuing the prospect carousel. When you find a good answer, keep it. Not all of these guys will be good in Seattle, we know that much.

Keeping Mallex Smith instead is a little stomach-turning.
Yeah, I would much rather ship Mallex but he wouldn't bring as much back obviously.....
Right, the tradeoff being we keep the better talent in Santana. I'm all for keeping major league success on our own team.

From the Divish piece I just posted.
Players that teams would actually want
Domingo Santana: Yes, he’s been a mess defensively in the outfield. But he’s still got a .277/.343/.484 slash line with 10 doubles, a triple, 19 homers and 64 RBI. That’s a productive right-handed bat that any team could find useful in its lineup. A team like the Rays could view Santana as an option at designated hitter and negate his defense completely. Or if Jay Bruce’s oblique injury in Philadelphia proves to be worse than expected, perhaps Santana’s value is increased.

The Mariners aren’t forced to move Santana since he’s only in the first year of arbitration eligibility. He has two years of club control. So while he isn’t necessarily part of their future, they don’t have to trade him now. They could wait to move him in the offseason or midway through next season if the current prospect return is minimal.

Arkansas getting no hit through 5 by their starting pitcher, burke. For some reason he gets pulled with only 59 pitches and a perfect game going. James jones (yes that James Jones) comes in to relieve him and hits a batter (no more perfect game) but keeps the no hitter going.

Who knew James Jones was a pitcher now? Could be pretty valuable as a RP and pinch hitter. Having a pretty good year in AA right now

Yes, I did mean pinch run. Maybe pinch bunter too?

Edit: LOL. I accidentally typed pinch hit again at first, but having a relief pitcher that is also a great pinch runner could be benificial, especially for an NL team.

My God Vogey is strong than a bull. If Dee Gordon made that same swing on that same pitch and made the same contact it wouldn't even have made it over the SSs head.

Hope he's over the hump because I find it troublesome that he's trending towards .230 with such a good eye at the plate.

Don't worry about BA. .372 OBP and .512 SLG% is close to elite. On pace for close to 4 WAR despite severe positional adjustments. And don't forgot, this is really his rookie year. I see him eventually with about a .280 BA.
