Kelenic had less than 100 PAs at Double-A and then missed an entire year of competitive baseball before being deposited in a league where pitchers are throwing no-nos daily. Now he knows what the ceiling looks like and where he has to get to.

So ridiculous. All that fuss about how they would have made the playoffs last year if he was playing and how terrible it was to manipulate his service time, and he comes up and can't even hit pitches over the middle of the plate! Yeah, the Mariners were SOOO foolish to leave him in the minors so long. And now? He didn't have enough time in the minors. What a freaking joke.

The guy isn't ready and is COMPLETELY over inflated in his opinion of his own talents. Oops.

And in a related item, many on the radio are saying that Jerry Dipshito should be given another year, until 2023, to get the Mariners competitive because of all the injuries. So lets puzzle this out. Dipshito wants us to take a look at all the kids so we can be competitive next year, but who decided to NOT bring in a few veterans to play along with these kids so they learn how to win. Having depth helps when you have injuries. So who do we blame for not having depth? Mr. Dipshito because he either didn't think we needed depth, or Mr. Dipshito for not being able to convince ownership to spend more? In either case, Dipshito does NOT deserve another year to make this team competitive because they did not have depth. It is his fault, one way or another.

Jerry is the only GM in our history to attempt a rebuild..no doubt fighting the the low IQ ownership group at every level and opportunity. I’m not ready to throw Jerry out in the middle of his plan.

Thats not entirely true. Jack Z attempted a rebuild. Ownership wouldn't let him trade Felix and Ichiro but he jettisoned everyone else. During his reign they decreased payroll every year for his first 4 season and built up a supposedly top five farm system.

Jack Z was GM for 6 years and 10 months. JD is at 5 years and 10 months. JD needs to make it happen next season or else.

We were a mess in the minors when Z was canned.

The Mariners would have made the playoffs the year after he was fired though.

Dipoto trading Trumbo after he was hired killed our 2016.
