What most concerns me is that according to MLB Media Gurus, the M's have a great Farm System chock full of potential MLB players. But those that have been moved up to the MLB level are, at best, in the Lewis/Crawford/France mold. And that's OK. But then we have those "sure fire" stars, Kelenic and White.

The trick is to have in place substitutes that can absorb those "failures." Unfortunately, we didn't anticipate acquiring backups that are better than the scrapings of the bottom of a dumpster. And this is why I place the blame squarely on Dipshito. Either he didn't see the need for depth, or he couldn't convince management of the need. If it's the first case, he's a bad GM. If it's the second, then he is an even worse GM. In either event, next year should be his last if the team is not close to being competitive at a higher level than it is now. I want to see 90 wins next season and injuries should not even enter into the conversation. Whether we hang on to Seager and Haniger or not.

What I should do is go back to being a Giants fan like when I was a kid.

I agree. And I have said as much many times, but that isn't the feeling I get in here. It is as if we have to trade everyone that doesn't have the word "prospect" next to them. It won't change my life, I don't ever expect them to compete and I almost never even watch them on TV, let alone pay to go see them. But it cracks me up that we seem to think that it is that easy. Just stock up the Farm and pretty soon we will be the Astros. We could also be the Pirates. Or worse yet, still be the Mariners!
