The season is over.... It ended with Houston and Texas. The offense has always stunk.... now the bullpen has cracksddraig wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 3:18 pmIn some instances, it isn't a matter of just a couple of games out of the playoffs. When the players realize the organization is not about winning, they will often give up. That is what we are seeing now. It's going to be a long, agonizing limp to the end of the season. That's why I am a proponent of having as many kids play as possible when the callups begin. Why bother with this season? Let's see if we can improve our draft position. An added bonus would be rolling Bauers and Long to the curb to make room for two additional bodies.

Yeah who would have thunk that after 6 starters go down the rotation is the strength of the team. Weirdest season ever and that's saying something.

Cool.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 4:54 pmHonestly if this thing turned on their record in one run games then I'm with Dipoto and looking to next season
So, what makes next year better?

Last night hurt. Even my 9 year old turned the TV off after the 9th saying "Typical M's, blowing another game - time for bed."..... Ugh. Life of an M's fan.

Extremely well said, both of you. 100% agree. The only way this changes is if attendance falls off significantly and stays at that low level.Michael K. wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 3:40 pmYep, the season is done. September should be about losing ball games and seeing what kids can do up here. Why should it be different. I mean, 2022 is the target, then fucking make it the target and stop Jacking Off and acting like they give a shit about this season.ddraig wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 3:18 pmIn some instances, it isn't a matter of just a couple of games out of the playoffs. That said, we are already talking about why would guys come here. In what Universe is this team a contender next year with more kids and the kids we have now? It isn't. It was a Damn joke to believe they could throw this year away because next year will be amazing, and this entire organization is a joke. How much over the going rate would it take for any free agent worth a damn to come here?
Keep bringing up the kids, keep promoting it to the fans like it is the second coming. They can continue to pay jack shit in salary and continue to get people to the stadium. Nothing will change. Only actual fans that would love to watch a playoff game this century will suffer. Oh, and some of the players stuck here that aren't in it for just the money and the ass kissing from local media.
20 years! Soon to be 21 and still counting. The laughingstock of North American pro sports.
Re: GT About time we smack the Rangers 8/10/2021
The organization had better be careful. How many 9-year-olds are becoming turned off by the inability to make the playoffs? If you start to piss of future fans, who is going to watch your team lose again, and again, and again? This is what happens when the almighty dollar is the main reason for being in professional sports.WoodinvilleCoug wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 6:08 pmLast night hurt. Sooner or later, the organization needs to understand that you need to judiciously pick up one or two free agents every year to augment the team you have. That was their mistake this year. Not picking up a couple of FA's in the event of injuries and to strengthen both offense and pitching. And you don't do that with bench players. That's where you give kids experience. How many more games would we have won with a TOR pitcher and Nellie and what would it have cost? An additional $35 mil? Still well below MLB average.

People who get excited by Hydro races and garlic fries...and a lot of videos of 95 and 01. People that go to the stadium to rub elbows and hang out in cantinas instead of watch the game. People who weren't around the last time this organization threw together a bunch of young talent and won, but didn't do shit to build upon that winner.
I really believe that they will sell tickets no matter what. It is kind of a Seattle thing. Maybe I am wrong, maybe the fans expect more. But just read in here....we have a ton of people more excited about what might happen next year than they were at being in the race this year.

Well stated, Michael. And it's what we get when all we have in the media is a propaganda machine! If the media would begin to call out the organization for it's mediocrity, it may change their business model.
