Jerry can't believe other teams are working on a holiday weekend.
Who's off the board tally

LMAO at all the dumbass media who predicted agents wouldn't want to deal with Cohen after his mean tweet about Matz' agent.

No, they'll get a pick at the end of the second round, right after the competitive balance B picks. They've replaced the OBP and the WAR for the FA they lost.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 9:18 amDepending who signs Conforto, that pick might not be worth much. If the M's sign him, they give up a third round pick. Imagine passing on re-signing your own player for a third round pick. The only way that looks smart is if Conforto goes into rapid decline next year. Honestly, teams way overvalue some of these draft picks, especially outside the first round. And I'm saying that as someone that is sort of a fan of the draft. But honestly, these later round picks don't usually amount to much. Sometimes you get lucky in the later rounds, but usually you don't.

I'm not sure who that was. Where there's money...D-train wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 12:10 pmLMAO at all the dumbass media who predicted agents wouldn't want to deal with Cohen after his mean tweet about Matz' agent.

Yes, I agree with your list. Semien's price seems too high right now. We'll see if they work around it with different pickups. I hope they don't go to sign Story.bpj wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 9:26 amWe need 3 bats, 2 starters and a lh reliever if Kerr isnt the answer.
We just saw the Mets make three moves in a day.
We need to hold Jerrys feet to the fire to spend that money the fans have been so understanding of them setting aside for later use the last few years. Pushing the prospects down for a year does nothing but stuff the system full of talent, from the top-down for once.
We have 6 holes from where I'm sitting, if we're chasing a playoff spot.
Vacancy (Best Available)
LF/DH (Schwarber or Conforto)
1B or 2B or 3B (Olsen or Semien or Bryant or Freeman)
CF (Suzuki or Reynolds or Buxton or Mullins)
SP (Ray or Gausman or Scherzer)
SP (Rodon or Stroman or any above)
LH RP (Chafin)
Seems like they'll fill all but the DH/LF. They have plenty of payroll to add impact at each vacancy instead of shopping the bins for Mileys and Aokis.

not deal with him?...the angle I heard they be stepping up...He made it sound like the Mets were desperate...D-train wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 12:10 pmLMAO at all the dumbass media who predicted agents wouldn't want to deal with Cohen after his mean tweet about Matz' agent.
Cohen's tweet Wednesday will be used against the Mets in upcoming negotiations. "Every agent sees that [anger] and will look at it as desperation," said one executive. "They see a team that needs [starting] pitching and an owner who's pissed off, and so now they can feel confident walking in [to a negotiation] setting a higher bar."
