I prefer Conforto hands down. Plus because of his left handed stick. But that's not the main reason. Dude was an OPS monster before he got injured. Guys will have down years. But I love Suzuki too. Either way I'd be super stoked to get either one..Case_Of_The_Runs wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 12:52 amWell, the Mets are in because they are losing Conforto. So if they landed Suzuki and we landed Conforto, would it be a zero sum game? Is anyone here more "in" on one of these two than they other?Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 12:05 am
Well you can throw out the Rockies and Pirates right away. Probably Philly too.
That leaves the Rangers, Mariners, Braves, and Mets as the most likely landing spots

They're obviously not sitting on their thumbs like a bunch of Mary's here begged Dipoto to do the last couple seasons for exactly your reasoning.
If they think they have the talent to compete in the next couple years, waiting until the last minute isn't great strategy. It's how you miss the playoffs by a game when things do start to gel.
Sitting on their thumbs waiting for everything else to be in place first would be pretty stupid, actually.
They could add 5 or 6 top free agents and be better than us. And they certainly have the payroll flexibility to do so.
